Anyone think they show ECW way too late by putting it on Sunday nights? SNME spoiled it for me there last week because it was shown so damn late. I'm thinking of emailing Sky to see whether they'd consider switching it to Wednesday or Thursday nights. I can't imagine it would exactly trouble them that much. Sunday nights is a bad time for ECW.

It is being thought about at the Sky end, as there has been a number issues recently scheduling wise. The timeslot will stay the same, as it has to be past the Watershed time.
Though whether it can be shown earlier is really up to the WWE editorially, believe it or not, it is quite a bit of trouble....more than fans would believe....

If they can get SD! on Friday nights on Sky, I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to get ECW on Wednesday nights.

Yes but once Smackdown is shot, it gives them 3 days for it to be edited....compared to 1 day for the ECW material to edited.....if it was to be shown over here on a Wednesday

Simply wouldnt happen, Just like why Smackdown isnt shown here live. It would be a logistical nightmare for both of them. Plus they wouldnt have enough matches to fill 35 minutes, let alone Just under an hour of television time.

ECW's only an hour long though. They should be able to edit it easily within 24 hours.

This bothers me, aswell. I avoid TV taping spoilers like the plague but last weeks ECW show was spoiled several times on these boards. I can't look at the fantasy league thread or go to wwe.com and it just seems rather silly when they could show it on a Thursday night.
Like CoTT says, 24 hours is more than enough time to edit a 1 hour show. I'd be inclined to recommend the guy that does it for the sack, if he spent more than 5 hours editing it. Lets not forget we are asking for a late night version, so the editing is minimal. Lets also not forget that Thursday night would be fine, so that gives them 48 hours at the very least.

Even Friday nights before SmackDown would be great as well. Just as long as it airs before the 1st showing of SmackDown every week there wouldnt be a problem what night its shown.

Friday doesn't work for me. It's one of my going out nights. Still though, it's just an incentive to finally get Sky+.

Both of these comments are laughable, you obviously dont realise, what an edit on such a show takes, to think that it can be done within 24 hours.
Not to forget the logistics for the WWE International department for this to be completed.
I wouldnt be suprised to see ECW on a Friday before Smackdown, but anything sooner simply wouldnt be possible.

You mean they wouldn't have a dedicated team who would work 24 hours straight just to get the show on a couple of days earlier in the UK?
I'm shocked.

One word answer....No!
From what I can gather the ECW Tapings are carried by courier back to Stamford on a Wednesday, and then edited on a Thursday.
They also have commitments to Canada, Australia, Spain, Germany, Japan as well....
As I said...I can see it being shown on a Friday in the future...which is technically 2 days earlier

How come they can edit a ppv, no problem within an hour then? See: Backlash on Channel 4.
