Backstage reaction to Raw Promo *Raw Spoilers*

The promo’s clearance has created optimism that WWE is committed to restoring the “true” ECW this summer.

So fingers crossed the old ECW may be back, must admit I was suprised too at his rant

I was shocked too, and all of what he said had me thinking, "why the hell do i follow this product?" Well, the answer is, im a loyal fan I guess, and Triple H is there. But i wouldn't blame anyone from walking away... I hope they do ECW correctly...

I really liked that Promo and also felt like Dickie in that "Wht the hell do I fellow this product" but i still do for some reason!

I'm glad they let him come up with and went though with. It seemed to me that he was turning heel towards the end. Is that what they are going to do. ECW the heels? I doubt that very much.

Ecw wont be heel in the ecw fans eyes. Interesting to see if they go with audiance split or play them off as mega heels like the invasion angle

That promo was the best promo ever and was the only reason why I had the feeling after Raw that the Raw was very special. I am shocked too with how criticising the promo was, and to be honest at some points I thought it was a shoot, I mean at least it got over the real Joey Styles, and what was good though is that he brought real life smarky issues that are posted on the net everyday into a storyline. I loved every minute of it. I don't think they will put ECW as a heelish group as they know it can't be done, they know that the real product of ECW will never get a negative reaction as most WWE fans who are at the arenas loved ECW. However, with that promo and last year, I can see the ECW brand in storylines hating the WWE. I am not suprised that backstage were a bit uncomfortable with it but I am very suprised that the creative team were ok with it and I never saw it coming either.

To the guys saying "made me wonder why I still follow this product" - Ok I can understand you might be pro wrestling fans like Joey was talking about and you prefer the wrestling matches to all the other stuff that goes on in WWE programming and to some degree I'd agree and say me to, although I do like the sports entertainment bit too but WWE has been "sports entertainment" for a very long time. The "boom" period of the late 90's which everyone still raves about now was still "sports entertainment" so if you've been womdering why you still watch WWE in it's current format, surely you have been wondering this for a longwhile? Maybe ever since you started watching?

Yeah it was still Sports Entertainment but it was alot less promo's and more action then today, that is my problem with it all.

I don't wonder why I still watch, I watch because I enjoy wrestling and have been a fan of WWF/E since I first watched a show in 1989, back then it was hardly any proming and just about all wrestling which is what I much prefer, but that won't stop me watching now as I just love wrestling

It was an excellent promo and if ECW is as "real" as joey's promo then maybe we are in for an interesting year.

Everything Joey said was right, the 'GOD' angle is patethic and is even worse than the Katie vick angle,Yes even worse than that patethic waste of time.

The fact that a wrestler who was one of the best characters in WWF is now tramautised by a date that he hears in his head is so stupid it's hard to believe,i'm suprised Styles didn't bring it up last night.

Joey was right on the ball WWE is in a slump right now and maybe ECW and real pro-wrestling will change it.

That Promo reminded me alot of the old Pillman "shoots". It seemed very real and he said with a lot of passion, it's great words to hear heh........I think majority of fans agree with him and everything he said was true......I saw it on youtube
