So you're on a wrestling forum wasting time rather than wasting your time doing something a little less pointless ?
Niiiiiiiice ![]() EDIT: I'm loving the deep, poetic, original, teenage angstyness as well ! Very original.

Yeah, look how many people wish they lived in the 18th Century, despite the whole time being a massive sh*t heap, or the amount of people who wish they were still teenagers, despite the fact that 90% of people spent their teenage entire years hoping they'd die.
It's pretty much a known fact that people look back on things unrealistically fondly.

Totally tangent ~
The whole glass half (whatever) thing is stupid as hell. If it's being emptied, it's half empty, if it's being filled, it's half full. If it's just sitting there, it depends on whether it was last part filled, or last part emptied. Anything else is just linguistically wrong.

I think Darkstar was more commenting on you saying that people don't view things with rose tinted spectacles.
Which has already been proved in this thread quite a few times that a lot clearly do.

I also think a fair few people didn't watch it then, and watch it now and say "well it's sh*t" but obviously watching stuff at the time was exciting cause it was new, fresh and relevant.
It's similar to the "The Beatles were rubbish" argument. You genuinely may think the songs are crap etc which is completely fine. But a lot say they are crap cause the recordings are basic and sound shitty in comparison...yet if it wasn't for them and that era we wouldn't the next 30 years of music. Watching things out of context and comparing them to future things is always an unfair comparison. But as established, rose tinted specs on and 2000 can be a year when everything was amazing, so even if today was really good (and some bits are pretty good) it could never compete.

And you only had the previous generation to look back on, which wasn't exactly something most of those who only started watching during the Attitude era were prone to enjoy...!
So there was no real comparison then...Edgey and sharp won out easily over the older and traditional programming. These days, however, the progression of Era's is a lot harder since people seem to prefer looking back at the Attitude era like it was 'The Stuff!' - it wasn't 100% awesome, just as todays wrestling really isn't either. It was mostly awesome in choice amounts and for certain reasons, because you had never seen it happen before on Televised wrestling before in this way - nowadays, it's harder to go anywhere new since everything is being done in triplicate, repeated ad nauseum and is as stale as 24-day old bread.
