Chris Jericho: WWE Not Building New Talent?

Quote:
Ring Posts Blog has posted an interview that Chris Jericho did with The Baltimore Sun where he shoots pretty hard on WWE's current product by saying the following: "We’re in a crisis period in WWE and we need to build new guys. When Shawn Michaels came back to Raw, he said, 'Whose been built since I left?' On Smackdown we’ve built [John] Morrison and [Dolph] Ziggler and Cryme Tyme. The Intercontinetal Title has been rebuilt now with Rey Mysterio. But I can’t tell you on Raw who has been built over the last six months. They better do it soon, because when this generation of performers is gone, who will replace them?"

Interesting to hear Jerich oactually say it

The IC title is still in the toilet, it will never reach the status it had 25 years ago. Jericho, as a fan of the IC title in his youth, should know that.

WWE cant build new stars because Vince seems terrified of leaving his comfort zone. Eventually it will click in his brain, like it did in 1997, that things need to change.

Needs another Sid/Mankind match for that to happen.

We need another Montreal Screwjob, a real one to get the ball rolling again. But that'll never happen.

You'll be happy to know that 61 percent of the WWE Universe voters think the WWE Draft is better than the NFL, NBA, another major sports drafts. In related news, 61 percent of the WWE Universe voters are morons.

The IC was on it's way to being something again when Jericho and Rey were having those excellent matches every couple of weeks. Now Jericho is fueding with Cryme Tyme and Rey is about to drop the title to a nobody. It's back in the toilet alright, but not as much as the US title. Poor Kofi, he could be a massive star if they didn't insist on keeping him off big shows.

Maybe he means Sid/Taker, the most pathetic Wrestlemania main event ever, so bad Sid took a crap during it.

Kofi Kingston is really a standout guy right now, has a great look, great flashy moves, music that matches his gimmick and he's over like a motherf*cker, but he never seems to be the focal point of anything. I fully expect to see him in the MITB match at Mania, where they throw all the guys they dont know what to do with.

And the sad thing is, apart from CM Punk, it's likely to be the same people next year as this year.

They could quite easily have no HHH, Batista, HBK, even Undertaker and focus the promotion around the guys like Kingston, Morrison, Miz, Punk, Jeff Hardy along with the likes of Orton, Cena, Jericho, Mysterio and I bet the shows would be a lot better and the ratings wouldn't even change.
