The Editorial
Hello, good readers, and welcome to the latest edition of the TWO Community Newsletter, the newsletter written by you (well, us) for you. Summerslam (or Summerfest, if you want to use the increasingly lame in-joke) is tonight, so a lot of you will be staying up into the wee hours to watch the PPV live on Sky Sports (or your country's equivalent), so why not pass the time until the opening bell by reading the contents of our fine "publication"?
Most of the usual suspects are all present and correct; Saz probes another member of the forum, this time it's our resident 20%-er, ShaolinHandLock getting grilled. Nimf shines her spotlight, Laffy asks her TWO Questions, Darkstar rambles about something, Kam overloads our brains with statistics and hosts a SummerSlam RoundTable, Inno asks his Big Question and I have a look at the work of the late John Hughes in Movie Mayhem.
Absent, however, is The Hot Topic, the column that ScottyB moved on to after the Photoshop League. It promised to cover the major talking point of the previous two weeks, but after only one outing, the man himself had been unresponsive to PMs until letting us know on Tuesday that he is unable to contribute to the newsletter, so, with a hint of sadness, The Hot Topic was declared dead at 11.53am on Tuesday August 18th, 2009. We will mourn, but we shall move on.
Also MIA this time out are Ghettoblastin' (for reasons unknown), the TWOStars recap (Vic's on holiday) and Room 101. The latter is missing because I accidentally deleted the column before posting it. O'Brien is also on vacation, so is unable to be contacted to see if he could re-send it. As they say in increasingly cheesy comedy show, "My bad!"
Still, there is plenty to savour, so enjoy the show, DC

Meet The Team
---------------------------------------------------------------
1) Where has TWO stalwart, the always lovely Miss T, disappeared to?
DC:Probably looking out the large window of her large house at her large staff parking her large car(s) in her large driveway before going off to have lunch. Kam:I think the Spoons thread was too much for her... TPIB:I don't remember her being here. Are there any girls on these forums anymore? Laffy:No idea! I hope she is happy where ever she is. Saz:My best guess would be up her own arse! To the uninitiated, that would sound like I don't like her. Fiona:Shopping? Darkstar:Wasnt she related to an old Austrian fella? I'd check that out... Nimf:I think she's here... Watching... Waiting for the right time to come back. Inno:I think Kam got her pregnant and she's off "at boarding school" right now. She'll re-appear with her new "cousin" in tow sometime after New Year... O'Brian:Who? Vic Veldon:I don't know who she is.
2) With the newspapers naming the parents of Baby P, the majority of the stories have run with how much it's going to cost to give those convicted new identites when (if?) they get out of prison. Other high-profile instances of this include the two males who killed Jamie Bulger and Maxine Carr, who tried to help her boyfriend get away with murder.
Do you think these people should be getting new identities, back-stories and financial allowances or do you feel that since they committed these horrific acts, they should simply be returned back to society as they are?
DC:I hate it that paedophiles, etc, get segregated from "general population" and are protected, same with the two examples above. In the case of the two boys who killed Jamie Bulger (and "killed" doesn't even begin to cover it), they have new identities and the public around them have no idea who they are or what they did. Now, imagine that you or your daughter/sister/etc has started dating them, fallen in love and plan to marry and have kids, totally unaware of who they are. Now imagine how you and they would feel should that ever come out. Imagine the press having a field day with pictures of their wife/girlfriend and the stigma that goes with it. On another point, when you have someone like Baby P's mother, who will be released one day, there WILL be people looking for her and looking to do her harm/kill her. The issue with that is they don't know 100% for certain if they've got the right person, so an innocent woman, who happens to maybe look like her, could be attacked instead. If the identities weren't changed, this could be avoided. It's a tricky issue, but bleating about human rights and compassion, when you have showed none yourself, is a travesty. If you break the law, go against the law, you can't just expect that same law, the law that you disregarded when it suited you, to suddenly come to your protection. With the step-father of Baby P putting in an appeal against his rape conviction of a two-year old, on the grounds she (the two-year old girl) "is an unreliable witness", I wonder how the lawyers defending him can sleep at night. I know they have a job to do, but even they must have a limit. Kam:I think their names should have been kept secret from the public with just the authorites aware of their location...would be alot less expensive. As it stands I don't think they have a choice, if anything happens to them it will be the authorities getting the blame. TPIB:I would go with Option C; the one where they go to prison. Laffy:Should they have new identities? Part of me thinks they should be constantly reminded what they have done and be hated all the time. But another part of me thinks, even if it is short, they served their time and should be able to continue their life. It is a hard one, but if it happened to someone I knew, or, God forbid, my child, I would hunt them down for the rest of my days, making sure their covers were blown every time. Wrong yes, but just! Saz:I think it's a good idea, simply to protect the "decent society" from itself. Or, to put it another way, to prevent a law-abiding citizen taking the law into their own hands and ruining their lives in prison. Fiona:Should they have new identities, Pfft. They should be made to wear a big flashing sign telling everyone what they did. And throwing eggs and other paraphernalia at them should be mandatory. Darkstar:They paid the price, according to the law, and so deserve the protection of the same laws. Nimf:They shouldn't even be separated from other prisoners in prison so, no, they shouldn't be given new identities. With the crappy sentences they are given in prisons, they should have to live in fear, just like the poor kid/kids they tortured. Inno:This kind of thing is close to my heart, and for once, I'm gonna be serious about it. I think it's absolutely disgusting that people that commit crimes get such protection to start over again, especially where murder is involved. ANYONE that takes a life intentionally should never walk free again, no ifs, no buts, no exceptions. You kill, you lose your right to your own freedom and liberty. Moaning about your human rights? Yeah, bet the dead people you left in your wake wish they could - or their families... or their friends. Do the crime - suffer the consequences. End of lecture. O'Brian:I'd stuff them in a cell with "the right people", but ideally, would like lethal injections all round. Vic Veldon:I'd throw them off a high cliff, tied and gagged, and never give them a second thought.
3) X-Factor started yesterday and, for many, the highlight of the show is the auditions stage that lasts for the first few weeks of the show. Do you feel this is the best part of these type of programmes or do you think it's a disgraceful exploitation of the weaker members of the public?
DC:I think it's great when someone, who clearly cannot sing, thinks that they're going to be the next big thing in music. Kam:I don't watch the show but I don't really like the piss taking, especially with the younger contestants. TPIB:What's X-Factor? Laffy:It's absolutely the best part. I love the bulid up they receive. You can tell with the music and the hype that it is going to be bad. I love the ones that compare themselves to the best stars, big themselves up and then watch the reactions when Simon kills them. Love it, love it, love it! Saz:I think it displays the worst part of the human genome, the desperation for acceptance, even if they don't have the ability that they want to be successful in. It's ok to suck sometimes, I should know! Fiona:It's absolutely the best part. The only reason I watch shows like that. Darkstar:As long as people aren't forced to go on it, then it's all good. It's when little kids are on talent shows that I get annoyed, even if they are good. Remember that little girl virtually having a breakdown on live TV on Britains Got Talent? Not cool, not cool at all. Nimf:I enjoy the really bad ones - particularly when they go a little psycho when told no. However, I do think parents and families need to stop tellnig these people they can sing when they blatently can't. Inno:It's no worse than Total Wipeout or Deal or No Deal, and at least is entertaining in small doses, especially when the sob stories are weeded out. Simon Cowell is the anti-Christ though. I'm positive. O'Brian:I don't watch any of these shows. Vic Veldon:I cringe through my fingers, but love every second of it.

~Website~Grooveshark.com. There are other music-streaming websites out there, but I find this one the easiest to use and haven't had a failed search yet.
~Movie~Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is a great horror movie that has went under the radar and been seen by hardly anyone. The premise is that all the classic slasher villains really exist and everyone knows they exist. The title character is an ordinary man who wishes to join these icons, so creates a character from an urban legend and invites a documentary film crew to follow him as he sets up his first victims (including who he has chosen as his final girl). It's an interesting twist to the genré and plays with all the clichés in an intelligent manner. The way it twists the filmmaker's viewpoint from one of enthusiasm to one of realisation is nicely done and this deserves a much bigger audience.
~Album~This Left Feels Right by Bon Jovi, an acoustic reworking of some classics from their back catalogue. Some of the tracks don't work, but when they do, it's sublime genius ('It's My Life' being the pick of the bunch).
~Book~Predator: Concrete Jungle, a non-canon follow-up to the original film and what the sequel should have been.

Movie Mayhem

February 18, 1950 – August 6, 2009
On the morning of August 6th, the movie world lost one of its pioneers when John Hughes collapsed and died from a sudden heart attack as he walked along West 55th Street in New York. Survived by a wife, two sons and four grandchildren, John Hughes was buried on August 11th in Chicago.
There'll be no overblown press reports that last for weeks over the death of the writer, producer and director of some of the greatest teen-movies in history. Instead, there were reams of solemn, but dignified comments from the film stars he helped leap into the public domain or gave a new lease of life too. People like Phoebe Cates, Robert Downey, Jr., Bill Paxton, Molly Ringwald, Sean Penn, Anthony Michael Hall, John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Matthew Broderick, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Annie Potts, Jon Cryer, Andrew McCarthy, Kelly LeBrock, Macaulay Culkin and countless others.
It's not an understatement to say that John Hughes created the true teen-movie and that he understood teenagers better than any writer and/or director to have tried before him. Those who didn't grow up in the eighties may not understand the influence and resonance Hughes had, but this blog here sums it up better than I ever could.
To celebrate the man's body of work as a producer, writer and director, I'l like to present to you, in my opinion, the ten John Hughes movies you must see.
Name of the film: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. John Hughes was the: Writer and producer. Starring: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Juliette Lewis, Randy Quaid, Johnny Galecki, John Randolph and Diane Ladd. Released: December 1st, 1989/ Great line, dude:"They had to replace my metal plate with a plastic one. Every time Catherine would rev up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for about half an hour." Best scene: When Clark is enrolled in the "Jelly of the Month" club. Why I love it: It's Chevy Chase in the role he was born to play and it's the last of the "... Vacation" movies that are worth watching.
Name of the film: Planes, Trains & Automobiles John Hughes was the: Writer, producer and director. Starring: John Candy, Steve Martin, Laila Robins, Kevin Bacon and Michael McKean. Released: November 25th, 1987. Great line, dude:"Those aren't pillows!" Best scene: Neal (Steve Martin) trying to get a rental car. Why I love it: It was a departure for Hughes (known more for his teen-angst body of work) and it paired two brilliant comedians who were on fire at the time. The chemistry between the two is excellent and the sentimental ending doesn't seem forced.
Name of the film: The Great Outdoors. John Hughes was the: Writer. Starring: John Candy, Dan Akroyd, Annette Benning and Stephanie Faracy. Released: June 17th, 1988. Great line, dude:"Pontoon boat? Whaddya going to do with a pontoon boat? Retake Omaha Beach?" Best scene: The bear scene. Why I love it: It reunites Dan Akroyd and John Candy, two guys who just work off one another so well (they featured in eight movies together in total).
Name of the film: Home Alone. John Hughes was the: Writer and producer. Starring: Macauley Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, Catherine O'Hara, John Heard and John Candy. Released: December 7th, 1990 Great line, dude:"This house is so full of people, it makes me sick! When I grow up and get married, I'm living alone!" Best scene: There are loads, but when Kevin uses the 30s gangster film (made especially for this movie) to scare the burglars on the other side of the door. Why I love it: Culkin is perfect as the cheeky kid left to his own devices while Pesci and Stern are brilliant with both the slapstick and the scenes where they have to be mean. Besides, any movie with a pair of burglars called the Wet Bandits has to be worth a viewing.
Name of the film: Pretty in Pink. John Hughes was the: Writer. Starring: Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, Jon Cryer, Harry Dean Stanton, Annie Potts, James Spader, Kate Vernon, Kristy Swanson and Andrew Dice Clay. Released: February 28th, 1986 Great line, dude:"This is a really volcanic ensemble you're wearing, it's really marvelous!" Best scene: Ducky dancing and miming to 'Try a Little Tenderness' in the record store. Why I love it: It's just a brilliant movie with real teenage emotions up on the screen. The casting is sublime and it leaves me with a cozy feeling every time I watch it.
Name of the film: Uncle Buck. John Hughes was the: Writer, producer and director. Starring: John Candy, Jean Louisa Kelly, Macaulay Culkin, Amy Madigan, Gabby Hoffmann and Laurie Metcalf. Released: August 16th, 1989. Great line, dude:"I don't think I want to know a six-year-old who isn't a dreamer, or a sillyheart. And I sure don't want to know one who takes their student career seriously. I don't have a college degree. I don't even have a job. But I know a good kid when I see one. Because they're ALL good kids, until dried-out, brain-dead skags like you drag them down and convince them they're no good. You so much as scowl at my niece, or any other kid in this school, and I hear about it, I'm coming looking for you! Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face! Good day to you, madam." Best scene: Buck has Bug in the trunk of his car. Why I love it: It's John Candy in his signature role and Culkin is great as well. Everybody wishes they had an uncle like Buck.
Name of the film: Sixteen Candles. John Hughes was the: Director. Starring: Molly Ringwald, Justin Henry, Michael Schoeffling, Haviland Morris, Gedde Watanabe and Anthony Michael Hall. Released: May 4th, 1984 Great line, dude:"Wease, we got seventy dollars and we got a pair of girls' underpants. We're safe as kittens." Best scene: The after-party at Jake's house. Why I love it: It's a great movie, but, more importantly, it showed that John Hughes could direct as well as write, paving the way for a lot of the films on the list. In fact, including this one, the remaining movies were all directed by John Hughes one after the other.
Name of the film: The Breakfast Club. John Hughes was the: Writer, producer and director. Starring: Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy and Paul Gleason. Released: February 15th, 1985. Great line, dude:"My God, are we gonna be like our parents?" Best scene: Anything with Judd Nelson as the focus. Why I love it: It captured the feeling of belonging and not belonging almost perfectly. Regardless of the fact I never went to an American high school, the cliques existed in virtually every high school in the Western world and Hughes got it spot on.
Name of the film: Weird Science. John Hughes was the: Writer and director. Starring: Anthony Michael Hall, Kelly LeBrock, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, Bill Paxton, Robert Downey, Jr., Vernon Wells, Suzanne Snyder, Judie Aronson and Michael Berryman. Released: August 2nd, 1985. Great line, dude:"You know, there's going to be sex, drugs, rock-n-roll... chips, dips, chains, whips... You know, your basic high school orgy type of thing. I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals." Best scene: A toss-up between Lisa's first appearance or when she takes the gym class. Why I love it: It's the ultimate geek fantasy and seems more relevant today than it ever did at the time. The internet didn't even exist when this was filmed, yet today, over 20yrs later, you can go online and download pretty much any type of woman you want from millions of adult websites. It makes you wonder what a contemporary remake would be like.
Name of the film: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. John Hughes was the: Writer, producer and director. Starring: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Jones, Jennifer Grey and Edie McClurg. Released: June 11th, 1986. Great line, dude:"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." (it couldn't be anything else...) Best scene: Either the singing in Chicago, the death of a Ferrari or the race to get home at the end. Why I love it: This was the first film where I can remember a character breaking the fourth wall, so, when I was a young lad, it felt like Ferris was talking to me. By rights, everyone should hate Bueller; he has the hot girlfriend, the cool swagger of a guy who doesn't need luck, luck needs him and he's always right... but Broderick is just so charismatic, you can't help but root for him to get away with it.

SO, WHO ARE YOU AND HOW'D YOU GET HERE?
Michael 89. My name is Richard (yeah, I couldn't think of a username for here and don't like to use my real name, so I'm stuck with this lame name lol) and I came across an ad for TWO on Facebook, which I clicked... and well here I am.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO WRESTLING?
I first started watching wrestling in mid 97. That was WCW Nitro on a Friday night. My next door neighbour then introduced me to WWF in mid 98 which he used to tape for me every week (I don't have Sky), including the PPV's. I then stopped watching wrestling (only watched it on and off) from late 99 until mid 2006!
WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD CURRENTLY HAVE THE MAIN TITLES ON ECW, SMACKDOWN, RAW AND TNA?
I don't watch ECW but looking at the roster I would go with Gregory Helms, I think he would do a good job of holding the belt as he hasn't had much exposure really.
For Smackdown, it has to be CM Punk, he is the best thing going in the wrestling industry today.
For Raw, I don't even know, I like Randy but he's getting a bit stale for me. Triple H shouldn't be near it at all, Shawns getting old, I'm gonna have to go with Cena. (I've just spent like 10 minutes looking at the roster to answer this, Raw needs help).
For TNA, I like Kurt so I'm happy with how things are at the moment, but if it had to be anyone else, I would go with either Matt Morgan as the crowd seems to be behind him a bit, Hernandez, with a bit of work on his character, or Eric Young who I've really enjoyed watching recently and could be great. Any of those three who haven't main-evented before, something fresh.
HAVE YOU EVER MET ANY WRESTLERS-IF SO, WHO?
Nope never, so sad .
WHAT ABOUT WRESTLING/WRESTLERS/WRESTLING FANS ANNOYS YOU THE MOST?
Wrestlers who annoy me the most, Triple H, Santino Marella who is just irritating now, Michelle McCool who genuinly seems full of herself, Kevin Nash for the same reason as McCool, John Cena for doing that army Salute thing in his entrance, Matt Morgan Who seems to bury his opponents (see his recent match with Chris Daniels), that's all I can think of really.
SO FAR, WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MATCH OF THE YEAR?
Well, like everyone else it was Shawn-Taker from Wrestlemania 25. But apart from that, off the top of my head, I would go with Rey Mysterio-Chris Jericho For the IC title at, I think it was, Judgment Day. The crowd was so hot for this, and a great crowd makes a great match.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE PROMO/BACKSTAGE MOMENT?
Ah, now you're asking. I enjoyed the one Matt Hardy cut on SD! after turning on Jeff at the rumble, really good. Also, when Edge came out to Vicki on RAW before she left to say that he was only using her to get to the top. And recently, when RAW was in Canada and Jericho & Big Show came out and he cut a promo on Cena, that was gold. There are many others but I enjoyed these ones.
IF YOU COULD START A CHANT AT A WRESTLING SHOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I'd really like to start a "this match sucks" chant, I mean there are a lot that deserve that, but you never hear it, and if I was at Summerslam for the Khali-Kane match, then I'd be sure to try and start that one off.
DO YOU HAVE AN ALL TIME FAVOURITE CLIQUE/ALLIANCE?
Oh yeah, definitely. That would be the NWO. I grew up watching them, and it was so cool seeing these (200 or so at times) guys come out with their music, black and white attire, cutting promos, beating everyone up, it was great. My second favourite would be The Corporation; seeing the boss put together this gang of thugs to do his dirty work all the time, and it was great to see them together because they was all diverse and had their own style and attire. Good times.
FANTASY 6 MAN MINI RUMBLE-WHO WOULD YOU HAVE IN IT AND WHO WOULD WIN?
Hmm tough one. Stone Cold, Undertaker, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Edge, CM Punk.
Winner: It has to be Edge with his ultimate oppurtunity right at the end.
WHAT IS THE LAST TEXT YOU RECEIVED AND WHO WAS IT FROM?
Erm, I think it was on Sunday from my Mum :\. Lol.
FANTASY JOB?
Astrophysicist/Cosmologist/Astronomer, anything along the lines of space studies, it's something I truly love.
WHISTLE-STOP TOUR OF THE WORLD-WHAT 3 COUNTRIES/PLACES WOULD YOU HAVE TO VISIT?
This is tough as I've not been many places, so, Australia, America, then probably Southern Europe.
IF YOU COULD MEET ANYBODY, PAST OR PRESENT, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I really have no idea, I would have to go with Jesus .
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY?
When I was about 1 or 2, I was in my cot standing up at the railings and seeing my dad walk through the door, awww so long ago.
WHAT WERE/ARE YOUR FAVOURITE AND LEAST FAVOURITE SCHOOL SUBJECTS?
My favourites were : French, maths, and P.E. (physical, mind).
My least favourites were : English, science, religous studies and woodwork
WHICH OF THE 7 DEADLY SINS DO YOU THINK YOU 'FALL' TO THE MOST?
I would go with Gluttony at times, Greed sometimes, and very much envy.
WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD,WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE ALL GROWN UP?
I remember specifically writing on some work I did at school when I was about ten that I wanted to become either a Pizza Man (don't ask LOL!) or a wrestler .
IF YOU COULD STAR IN ANY MOVIE IN ANY ROLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
The Terminator. Walking around being untouchable, having people shoot you and not have any effect and seeing their reaction that you are something strong and powerful, I think that'd be cool.
Gabriel from Swordfish. Pretty much having anything he wants and can live the high life doing so.
Neo from Matrix. Just an ordinary guy living his life, then you find out that you're much more than that.
The Joker from The Dark Knight. One of the coolest villains in film history. Who wouldn't want to be him?
Okay so more than one, but I kept it short, lol.
WHAT 3 THINGS WOULD YOU SAVE FROM YOUR HOME IN AN EMERGENCY (OTHER THAN FAMILY AND PETS OF COURSE!)
Lol, well my computer for starters, then my HDTV, then my PS3, gotta get them expensive items outta there, can buy everything else afterwards .

The BIIIIIIIIIIIG Question
Well, hello.
It's that time of the fortnight YET AGAIN... and I'm back once again, whether or not you like it. Well, until the restraining order clicks into place anyway. Thank you, legal system!
Ahem.
Anyway... in the Music Club, a certain mister Anime_Otaku (if that's his REAL name) posted a track by Lily Allen called "F**k you" and blow me down and call me Betty, I quite liked it. What I want to know is quite simple:
"Who would you tell 'F**k You' to?"

The old bosses who fired me because apparently sexual discrimination covers women as well nowadays...
The former Deans who did their best to stop me and my frat from pulling pranks during my college days...
The ex-best friend who I caught in bed with my dear Grandmother...
The other friends who said I would never make it as a champion sprinter (and were unfortunately right)...
The people who passed me in the street with a sneer on their face and refused to offer up any change just because I was playing Mozart on my penny-whistle...
And yet, even with all these traumas, one person stands out above all the others. I want to drop one hell of an F-bomb right at... YOU, the reader.
Nah, I'm joking...
Let's go for Vince Russo - I just imagine it would be incredibly satisfying... seriously just close your eyes and think about it right now; don't you agree ?
Vince would take that as a compliment and proof that crash TV and SWEVREMANIA worked though. Damn you!!!

I mean good god, the next time he tries to be 'down with the kids' I might just have to haul off and slap him one.
Britain is healing right now and the only reason we have got back on that path is down to the actions of Gordon Brown.
If Cameron gets in then all of that work will be for nothing as I predict that the Tories will just end up killing the very things that are Great about Great Britain off for good, just like they started in the 80's.
So Cameron... F**K YOU!

As to the question, the song pretty much covers it. Any -ists with along with homophobes.
Also, carrying on slightly from the previous group Religious Fundamentalists of all creeds.
I have no problem with people having a faith despite not being a religious person myself. What I do have a problem with is people using faith as an excuse to oppress other people who don't believe as they do. I'm looking at you Mormons, particularly those in California.
Also certain members of the Catholic Church over the fact they've helped paedophiles escape justice by giving out hush money and moving priests that have had accusations made against them.
To lighten the mood a bit, Max Clifford for representing talentless nobodies and getting them on TV constantly.
I already know your real name. And what colour curtains you have... but I've said too much... and you mentioned Max Clifford? I'm SHOCKED and STUNNED nobody has said my personal choice, Kerry Katona.
Summerslam (or Summerfest, if you're a Jeremy Piven fan) is upon us. For it being the WWE's second-biggest PPV of the year, the build has been pretty weak. Let's see who's looking forward too it and who's not.

As much as I hate the very limited RAW main event scene, the only thing I can hope for now is Cena to win, so I get to see Cena Vs Batista II eventually down the line (Survivor Series possibly), especially if WWE insist on having the same 4 people out of the present roster main-eventing all the damn time.
Hopefully the SmackDown and ECW main-events will feature something a bit fresher. Hardy Vs Morrison Vs Punk in a Triple Threat, and Christian Vs Kozlov would be nice!
I've never seen G2G get so upset. Damn you, WWE!!!!

And is it a rule in WWE that all good guys have to be very cocky and smug. I've noticed that most of the good guys are like that.
Yes, the rules changed last year, I'll send you a copy of the memo.

Summerslam has been 'just another PPV' for a while now, there was a time when it was truely the 2nd biggest PPV of the year.
Careful, comments like that will upset Redman.

Yeah, take that Dave, what a thrashing by the TPIB. NOT.

Ever since I started my Blabbermouth column, I have made no secret of my hate of David Platt from Coronation Street. I figure this is as good a time as ever to explain my hate. Oh, and I am aware that Platt is a character played by Jack P Shepherd, but I prefer to think of them as the same person as much of my hate is directed at him as well.
For the first 10 years of Platt on Corrie, he was played by a young actor called Thomas Ormson, seemingly just because he was born at the right time. Believe it or not this is standard for soap children.
Right place, right time
After ten years, the writers of Corrie decided they wanted the David character to be more of a child heart-throb to pull in the pre-teen crowd; that’s when it all went wrong.
This is what kids like? Huh.
The first give away that something was wrong should have been that Platt had a Leeds accent… a character who had never left the Manchester area, a character who’s friends and family all had (light) Manchester accents or RP, for some reason had a Leeds accent!? What next, Homer Simpson becoming a frikkin Geordie?
But it all went horribly wrong on the heart-throb front…
I mean just look at him! Look at that weird face, nothing looks right, not the eyes, not the colouring, not the hair. It’s the face of pure evil, of pure horror. And what the hell is that weird nose bulb all about?
But, I’m not that shallow that looks make me hate, no, not at all. Though when he first saw David Platt, Peter Cushing had something to say.
The thing that gets me the most is just the sheer unlikeability factor. Recently Platt had a storyline where a local ‘thug’ was moving in on his then girlfriend, Tina. So David set him up on an assault charge. Trouble was, this storyline started out as way to make David Platt into a sympathetic figure, but he just couldn’t pull it off and was cast as a second villain. That’s right, the storyline was about 2 soap bad guys having a feud. Think about that for a minute… how often does that work?
Really, this guy was more likeable!
I was watching and hating both characters, both inspired you to want them to get what was coming. But when the show ended, I could admire the skills of the lad playing Gary Windass (the ‘strawberry blond’ up there). He played a great villain and I responded as I should during the show. But Platt… I still hated him. The shitty sub-par acting just made me angry. GRRRR PAUL SMASH!
Look at villains through soap history, and apologies as this is UK based, and see the skill.
Dirty Den
Richard Hillman
Phil and Grant Mitchell
Nigel Cotton (Do you mean Nick? - ed)
Cindy Beale
Trevor Jordache
Trevor Morgan
JR Ewing
All of them inspired you to hate them, but after the show ended you could sit back and say how great they were at it. You could admire the skill and the ability of the people behind the character.
So, to sum up, he can’t act, looks like a mutant, and he gets great storylines as a bad guy, as anything else just wouldn’t work. He can’t play the good guy at all due to his sheer inability to play a sympathetic character.
Just to end, enjoy this YouTube clip.

The Probe
(Saz)
---------------------------------------------------------------
The world is shrouded in controversy, in debate and, ladies and gentlemen, I bring you perhaps one of the most controversial and opinionated of them all, yes, I bring you ShaolinHandLock!!!
Hi ShaolinHandLock and thank you for taking the time to be involved in the Probe. Would you like to tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm just a wrestling fan. I also happen to be a fan of lots of other things. Oh, and I'm Australian. I can't really think of anything specific about myself... I get quite paranoid at times and I also worry a lot and get stressed out for no apparent reason.
What side of Aussieland do you live on? Or are you one of those ultra-hard central dwellers with crocodile-skinned boots, big knives and a certain naive charm about big city life?
I'm in Victoria. If anyone doesn't know where that is, it's where Melbourne is. I live in the suburbs, which is OK, I guess... I haven't lived anywhere else, so I don't know! I wouldn't want to live in the country though.
And no, I don't see anyone like Crocodile Dundee around here.
The question on everyone's lips... What's Jimmy Redman really like?
How would I know?
TWO is a bit British, have you noticed anything different in the way things are done over here to the way you are used to?
Not really. There are a few small differences I've noticed, such as the UK Scene Forum and the fact that most of the members are British.
Ok, so what are your interests?
My interests? Lets see, I have a lot! I have a number of collections of things, such as videogames, Kung Fu movies, DVDs in general, Wrestling DVDs, and Rap/Hip-Hop CDs.
My interest of Kung Fu movies has faded in recent times. For example, I used to watch/get between 2 and 6 movies on DVD a week and I used to watch at least one of them each weekend. Now, however, I struggle to watch one a year. I am still very much interested in Kung Fu movies though, I must really start watching them again.
Videogames; I have heaps of consoles and games and unlike some who collect for the sake of collecting, I try to play everything I have. But yeah, it's a big collection too, and I don't see my videogame interests subsiding any time soon.
Rap/Hip-Hop; I bought my first rap album at the approximate age of 10 and that was Tupac's Greatest Hits. Nowadays, rap/hip-hop is the only music I listen to and I have literally hundreds of CDs. Lately I've been buying too many of them, so my interest in rap will most likely never decline.
I am very much into pro-wrestling, hence why I joined TWO in the first place. I like all forms of pro-wrestling, whether it's hardcore, technical, lucha, puro, etc. I also have an on-again off-again interest in MMA, specifically the UFC. My UFC DVD collection is tiny when compared to all my other collections.
Those seem particularly home-bound sort of interests, do you actually get out and do things or are you a stay at home geek?
I pretty much stay at home.
Do you have friends outside of TWO?
I have one, whom I haven't seen since January! I really must get around to calling him. Other than that, no, I don't have any other friends.
Glad I reminded you then! So where abouts on TWO do you hang out?
Basically all the forums apart from the UK Scene & TWOStars forums. I don't use the chatrooms either.
With such a wide coverage of forum areas who would you say are the best posters on this forum?
Jimmy Redman, simply because of the detailed reviews of SmackDown etc. They help me keep up, without actually watching the shows, since I have no access to them. I don't really know who else.....I find most of them fine to be honest.
Sounds a bit like Aussies sticking together myself... is there anyone else?
I wasn't trying to be biased, if thats what you mean.
Anyone else... Pretty much everyone I guess! Seriously, I can't really choose any single person, they're all good.
Ok then, who are the worst posters on the forum? It's usually good to justify your answer as well.
I don't really want to call anyone the worst.....one that does get annoying at times though is Jay 2 the Funk, simply because of all the arguments/"debates" he seems to cause. But still, I wouldn't call anyone the worst.
I'm getting the impression you are not a person who rocks the boat.
You mean as in causing trouble? Yeah, I definately don't want to cause any trouble.
So tell me about this 2/10 nonsense then.
What's so nonsensical about it? I only listen to Rap/Hip-Hop music. In the Music Club, I tried my very best to remain unbiased, be fair, and review the songs as if genre didn't matter. And I didn't like any of them, so they all got 2/10.
And the only reason why they didn't get 1/10 is because I was told off about it.
Others would say that it's a bit closed-minded of you, especially with the negativity rap gets (with people saying it's not music) and others still tried to be critical about it. What do you say to that?
I was being as open minded about it as possible. And as for people who believe rap isn't music, I don't understand them saying that. If all they've heard is some generic gangsta rap, then they are really not seeing the full picture. There are that many sub-genres of rap, most quite different from each other, that listening to one style and dismissing the whole thing doesn't make sense.
It's like saying that techno isn't music, simply because a lot of it is computer-produced by a DJ. To say that rap isn't music is just stupid.
Chris Rock is famous for saying that he's sick and tired of defending rap. It used to be easy, you could say it's art or philosophy of the ghetto, yet now it's all about calling women hos or b*tches and he quotes "get low, get low, to the window, to the wall, to the sweat drop down my balls, to all these b*tches crawl".
Now that doesn't sound "gangsta", that sounds, well rather sexist.
How do you defend those sort of lyrics?
To be honest, I don't really defend those sort of lyrics. Instead, I just take no notice of them. For all I care, they could be rapping about anything, as long as it sounds good.
Of course, the real lyricists do stand out and, as noted, there are those who rap about women in those ways. So yeah, I don't really take it all too seriously, it doesn't mean I particulary like those type of lyrics, I just don't read into them that seriously.
So you're telling me that you'll overlook lyrics like "twerk something baby work something baby pop yo p*ssy on the pole do yo thang baby slide down dat b*tch wit yo little bit then stop get back on the floor catch yo balance then drop now bring it back up clap yo ass like hands i just wanna see yo ass dirty dance" because it has a funky beat?
Um... Yes. I prefer to listen to songs that don't have those sort of lyrics anyway, but I have a few exceptions. As I said before, I don't take lyrics all that seriously.
So yeah, I'm not exactly a fan of those sort of lyrics and I'm not even defending them, but I do overlook them.
Excluding gangsta rap, which endorses drug use and killing anyone who gets in your way and the type of rap that demeans women, what kind of rap should we be listening to to ensure that it's the artform that Chris Rock was talking about?
I don't know.....while I don't listen to it, there is a such thing as Christian rap.
But yeah, I seriously don't have an answer for that. I mean, there are heaps of rappers out there and most of them are different, so it's hard to say.
I'd say, look at the many sub-genres of rap and see the differences.
Christian rap eh? Wondered if they'd ever use the N word outside the KKK? Right! Getting away from the dizzy heights of evangelists rapping, if you had something to tell your new dawgs here at TWO, what would you be rhyming to them?
I have no idea! Something inoffensive of course.
OK, before I end this, I noticed that the police have stated that someone's going to get charged with murder over Michael Jackson's death, are people taking this MJ love thing a bit too far?
The death of Michael Jackson was pretty much all that was on TV and in the news over here when it happened. The media went overboard. As someone who isn't a fan of Michael Jackson in the slightest, I say this: even if I was a fan, the media still went way overboard. All that I heard about for a couple of weeks was Michael Jackson and I'm sick of it.
As for the whole murder thing I have no idea.
As usual, to finish off I invite the Probee the opportunity of having the last say, so, is there anything at all you'd like to say to the TWO peeps?
I don't know... TWO is good?
Thanks for taking the time to do the Probe.
No Problem!

TWO Questions
(Laffy)
---------------------------------------------------------------
1) What is your favourite Summerslam Moment/Match?
2) If you could add a match to this year's Summerslam, either using a match from past Summerslams you wish to see again, or using the recent crop of wrestlers, who would you have and what stipulations would you give the match?
Inno Favourite moment/Match - The HBK/Ramon Ladder Match II at Summerslam 95. Not quite as good as the first one, but DAMN still a good match!
Past Or Present Match! - Undertaker vs. Undertaker. Seriously. I would!
Fiona Favourite moment/Match - My favourite match was John Cena/Batista. Cena took one hell of a beating and should have won, but Batista in fine fashion showed he's just like HHH and is immune to finishers.
Past Or Present Match! - I think a TLC match with Hardy/Edge is one I would love to see. I know it's been done in the past, but both of these guys give their all when in this type of situation. Edge would give Hardy a much better match than I believe Punk will. Hopefully I'm wrong. If this is Hardy's swan song, I would have liked to see him up against a more worthy opponent.
Nimf Favourite moment/Match - My favourite Summerslam moment isn't actually something that happened during the show. It was during Summerslam 2005. I watched it with a friend, it was my first ever PPV and it started me off REALLY watching wrestling. So that particular Summerslam holds a special place in my heart for that.
Past Or Present Match! - Not an easy one for me. Let's see. My favourite PPV is the Royal Rumble as I adore the Rumble match so perhaps another one of those, with some really surprising entrants. Not necessarily cheesy ones, i'm talking... well... okay I mean Austin, I want him there. So sue me.
Nemesis Enforcer Favourite moment/Match - Bret Hart vs British Bulldog for the IC title from all the way back in 1992 is probably my fave match from this event ever. I remember being little and shouting so much for that match just like the massive crowd at Wembly were too. Great match it was as well and one of the few I remember from that far back. '92 Summerslam really felt special comming from England and was topped off by a great match!
Past Or Present Match! - Hogan vs Michaels from 2005 is the match I would most like to see again, simply so they could do it right this time and not have Michaels being an idiot during the whole match, overselling everything to make it more a comedy match just because he got out politiced in the back by Hogan. If done right then this could have been something huge and special which is what I wanted it to be back at the time. Would keep the same result though of 1-2-3 for Hogan.
Laffy Favourite moment/Match - Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H Street Fight Match - Summerslam 2002. This is one of my favorite matches of all time. Shawn Michaels had been retired for four years and left the WWE at the top of his game. I thought I would never see him wrestle again. His return was amazing and the match exceeded all my expectations. I marked out hard when it appeared that Shawn had not lost his magic. When he won the elation I felt was electric that quickly turned to anger and hatred all concentrated on one man Triple H when he hit HBK with the sledgehammer.
Past Or Present Match! - The Rock vs Brock Lesnar, I loved the first match they had in 2002 but the match I felt was completely overshadowed by the previous match. I would love the two to meet again and pull out all the stops. I feel it could be a classic.
---------------------------------------------------------------
WWE SummerSlam RoundTable
(Kam)
---------------------------------------------------------------
Unified Tag Team Championship:
Big Show & Chris Jericho (c) Vs. Cryme Tyme
Dante Spears: Jerishow will definitely win. Were you seriously considering anything else?
Fidel Cashflow: Cryme Tyme finally get a tag title shot on a big PPV, but sadly it'll be fodder for this title run. Exactly how much happier was everyone when this team was Jericho and Glass Bones Copeland? It'll be a tribute to the ability of all of these men if there is even a single believable Cryme Tyme nearfall.
G2G: Jericho and Show to retain. I love this Tag Team, and although Cryme Tyme holding the Tag Team Titles would be nice, and is long overdue, I think the Champions will retain. Definitely not the end of the feud though, and I fully expect Cryme Tyme to win these titles soon, just not tonight.
Jung: Could go either way, both victory and match quality wise. Jericho's a little wasted in this area, especially considering his first half of the year. Hopefully a good contest and I think the crowd will be into it.
Springsteen: Let me start off by saying I like Jericho/Big Show as a team, it's worked for me. It probably shouldn't have because Big Show is really crap, but it has. Anyhoo onto the match and to be honest I don't expect anything other than a title retain here, it could be alright as a match as long as they don't put it on long.
ECW Championship:
Christian (c) Vs. William Regal
Dante Spears: Regal can have decent matches when paired with an opponent that can work with his stiff method of wrestling. The question is will Regal have a good match with Christian? It could go either way, but I think it will be decent. I’m hoping for Christian to pick up the win because it’ll help nobody if he loses his title directly after winning, and personally I’m hoping he’ll still be ECW Champion when I go to an ECW taping in September.
Fidel Cashflow: Don't really care. For all of his charisma, and I am a huge fan, I find Christian very boring in the ring. He's best as a heel so faces can bring energy to the match. This I'm not sure will work.
G2G: When William Regal was announced as Number 1 contender on The Abraham Washington show I was like WTF? What has he done on the show to earn contender status?? Not forgetting that his style of wrestling is soooo stiff, and it comes across as extremely boring. That being said, his new faction with Kozlov and Jackson is the 2nd best thing to hit ECW in recent weeks (after Abraham Washington), and if Regal is Champion, and they start a reign of terror on ECW, I will love the show forever. So my pick is a Regal win, or a DQ.
Jung: Given time this has the potential to be excellent. Ultimately it will depend how much time they are given, what type of crowd and what type of match they work. Both are solid and dependable though, so fingers crossed for a good match. Regal to win.
Springsteen: Well I rarely watch ECW and haven't in a long while so I have little to no idea how this match came to be, however this could be alright as a pure wrestling match. Again it should be kept to no more than 10 minutes and it'll be fine.
MVP Vs. Jack Swagger
Dante Spears: So Evan Bourne and Jack Swagger have shown that they can have great matches together and instead of using it in a feud (a feud that should’ve happened when they were on ECW), they use it as fodder for a Swagger and MVP feud. They’re using great matches as build up to mediocre matches that have been given away on TV. Yeah that makes sense. I’m going for a Swagger win because MVP is a talentless hack in my opinion and Swagger definitely needs a build.
Fidel Cashflow: I'm really upset this is on the show and Kofi (y'know....the US Champ) can't get on. For both of their sakes, I'd hope this is a sort of breakthrough match for them. They're (especially Fave MVP) are being pushed down our throats, and are on the show ahead of the champ, so they better deliver.
G2G: The two most promising wrestlers in the RAW upper midcard scene. I'm hoping Swagger will win, as his push since joining WWE has been nothing short of phenomenal, but this match could go either way.
Jung: I feel sorry for these two because the crowd probably won't care. And why should they? The build has been virtually non-existent and its just been thrown together. I imagine they'll get little time too. Swagger to win, but ultimately I hope the crowd cares or else they'll get told the dreaded "you didn't take your chance" by the booking crew, which means no push for them, which equals same old main events.
Springsteen: Little build to this but what there has been has looked promising. I like both men as in ring performers so it should be a pretty good match. Stick it somewhere around the midcard. I see an MVP win in the stars.
Intercontinental Championship:
Rey Mysterio (c) Vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dante Spears: 5 months ago if you had told me that Ziggler was challenging for a title and having decent matches I would have laughed. This guy went from a low card nobody to a semi -serious midcard talent in 5 months, and his in ring talent has sky rocketed since his sloppy program with MVP back in April. I feel that they could stretch this feud out into another PPV easily and make him look stronger when he does eventually win it but with the WWE’s current habit of schizophrenically changing titles, it’s plausible that Ziggler will win, and I’m certain the match will be the sleeper hit of the pay per view.
Fidel Cashflow: I fully expect this to be the match of the night, and will be very upset if this isn't the beginning of a strong Ziggler title run. With Hardy on his way out, I'd expect Rey to be going to the main even to fill his void as a face. That'd leave Ziggler to hold this title and defend it against the slew of quality midcard guys SD! has.
G2G: I'm really proud of how WWE has pushed Ziggler in recent weeks. He looks like a main eventer in the making, and I'm sure given the chance he'll make a great IC Champ. I'm surprised he didnt win last month at Night Of Champions, but I feel SummerSlam is his night for victory.
Jung: Like Regal/Christian, could be good if given enough time. Considering it's a rematch I'd expect Dolph Lungren to take it. I like him and his moveset, I just find him the same breed of star that they've been pushing for a while. Not much about him makes him stand out, just very generic. But he has potential, I just think he needs an X-factor and at the moment, he's very samey.
Springsteen: Good match at Night Of Champions, and this really has the potential to be great IF it's given time. Which it should be, I see a Rey retain, but wouldn't be overly surprised if Dolph won.
Kane Vs. The Great Khali
Dante Spears: Kane and Khali’s Wrestlemania 23 match wasn’t terrible. Not great but it wasn’t painful to watch. The only problem now is that Khali is a face and his slow movement around the ring only works when he’s got a monster aura about him. I’m predicting a win for Kane, but honestly this bizarre feud has left me not really caring who wins.
Fidel Cashflow: We get this sh*t but no Kofi?
G2G: Probably the weakest match on the show, but I look forward to a heavy hitting match between these two monsters. I think Kane will get the win with the use of a steel chair.
Jung: The only hope is it's short. The pee break match.
Springsteen: Well.......It will be crap, no getting away from it. Kane will probably win, but I really couldn't care less.
D-Generation X Vs. Legacy
Dante Spears: This match could’ve been a huge deal. It’s could’ve, but it isn’t. The build to this match has been god-awful. Triple H shows that he can single handily take on Rhodes and DiBiase (AND Orton), then loses to them only to bury them, and then he finds HBK whose been working as a chef, only to reunite again before once again beat down. This isn’t so much booking as it is making a mess with the wrestlers. I’m going to say DX will win but either team winning will be completely pointless.
Fidel Cashflow: DX Reunion Tour~! As much as I mark for Shawn Michael's, if this match (like all DX tag matches) ends with Legacy looking like nincompoops, I'll be upset. Randy Orton's CAWs deserve to look dangerous here.
G2G: This match probably won’t even last 10 minutes. It's just there to put HBK and HHH over. I hope it lasts longer though, as it will be a great chance for Rhodes and Dibiase to make a good account of themselves by taking it to DX. I'm so confident that DX will win I've placed my entire 68,836 vBookie money on them.
Jung: I'd be astonished if DX don't win. Unbelievably underwhelming return for DX and HBK. Had the potential for much more and in Invasion-style fashion just blew it. If Legacy are perceived like a threat by DX and get some major offence in, it should be good. If not, then we all remember DX's feud with the Spirit Squad right? Lets hope the WWE do too, so they don't repeat it.
Springsteen: This was rumoured to be going on last, not sure how true that is. Anyway, as long as it's not a total squash and Legacy at least go down fighting it'll be ok. DX will win it but I just hope Legacy aren't made to look like total job boys again.
WWE Championship:
Randy Orton (c) Vs. John Cena
Dante Spears: I think it’s a bit of a step backwards that the exact same WWE Championship match from two years ago is being played out again, except the roles are reversed. It was a mediocre match then and given that the WWE’s approach to Orton is to make him appear weak and pathetic as of late, and that booking seldom helps a match. I’m hoping for an Orton win so he might gain some credibility as a champion again, but I wouldn’t be surprised at a Cena win. I just hope a Cena victory does herald another year long Cena reign.
Fidel Cashflow: I've been waiting months for Cena to get the title. Damn Dave "Charmin Soft" Batista for getting injured. Randy's title runs are always booked so poorly, or maybe he just has WARRIAH disease and is better chasing it down? Cena better win...but I know I'll regret that tomorrow the second he reminds us the champ, is infact, here.
G2G: Superman Cena Vs The Viper Hmmm. Although I was quite boisterous when I heard this match announced, insisting I didn't want to see it, I've had a complete 180, and an epiphany of sorts. This should be an epic match as well. I pick Cena to win, seeing as Orton has held the belt for a while now, and it sets up a long awaited rematch with Batista, or Cena Vs Trips 4 seeing as their series is currently tied at 1-1 with the third match a no contest.
Jung: This match was some people's WM choice around December 2007. Amazing how times change or more appropriately how they don't. The feud has had some alright build, just a lack of consistency (Cena going mental for no reason 1 week, then the next week back to cutesy comedy). It should be a good match but these two have seemingly had stop/start feuds for the last 2 years and unfortunately they never ever built from the original great storyline that Orton injured and then took the belt from Cena without beating him. Will be decent, but says a lot about the lack of progression and how a once potential marquee match is now pretty ordinary. Hopefully Orton to win so Cena can chase.
Springsteen: I'm actually looking forward to this match. No idea why, the fact that I like both as performers could have something to do with it I guess. Probably be third last if they have TLC last.
World Heavyweight Championship: TLC Match:
Jeff Hardy (c) Vs. CM Punk
Dante Spears: I fully expect this to be the match of the night. Jeff Hardy and CM Punk have been on fire as of late and what better to finish this feud then to throw them through Home Depots finest Table, Ladders and Chairs? I’m interested to see what CM Punk is capable of in a one on one hardcore environment, considering he hasn’t had a lot of exposure in that thus far. I’m calling for CM Punk to win, possibly in a way where Jeff gets screwed out of the win because for some reason that seems to have become his moniker.
Fidel Cashflow: Please please please let this be CM Punk's first "classic" match. I really hope he absolutely kills himself in this match, as anything less, and what's the point of him being there above anyone else? Jeff will do his part. Main eventing the second biggest show of the year in the only sort of match you're actually good at? He'll be going off. Punk's been handed a golden opportunity. Lesser talented people have done more with less. If after this match I'm not in permanent "hot f*cking damn" mode, everything has been a waste.
G2G: This is the match I'm most looking forward on the card. Their current feud has made SmackDown unmissable. Jeff the babyface who’s had his troubles in the past against the straightedge heel in probably WWE's most exciting signature match. I keep on reading everywhere that Jeff is leaving, he's handed in his notice, and that SummerSlam will be his last match. If that's the case it will be disappointing, as the Rainbow Haired Warrior has grown on me. Still I pick Punk to win this match.
Jung: The only match on the show I'm genuinely excited about. Looks like it may be Jeff's swansong (for now at least) so you hope he'll be going all out. The feud, and Punk's heel turn, has been a success so far, so here's for a really competitive match with some creative spots and the crowd really into it. Should definitely go on last. Punk to win obviously.
Springsteen: I don't know why but I see a Matt turn on Jeff. Actually this has the potential to be really good. I am a fan of Ladder matches anyway, and this has Tables and Chairs thrown in. I have no idea who'll win, if I had to guess I'd say Punk.
Any other comments?
Dante Spears: For a pay per view that is considered the 2nd biggest event of the year, they're doing a piss poor job of it. Half of these matches we've seen before, and half of them are of matches nobody gives a damn about. On an unrelated note, I think Jeff would have to be a phenomenal idiot to quit when he's finally at the top of the WWE, but that's Jeff Hardy for you.
G2G: Definitely worth the £14.63.
Jung: For the 2nd biggest PPV of the year, it's been promoted awfully and it doesn't feel anything like a major event. WWE have been more concerned about whether ZZ Top would pull a rating rather than their own roster, which tells you all you need to know about their confidence in their roster. Yet they don't want to push anyone. I almost hope it does a bad buyrate so it shakes them into change. But my heart tells me if it did do that, the blame would go onto the likes of Punk and Hardy, rather than the stale Raw guys.
Springsteen: Thoughts on the PPV - Well I think it'll be solid enough, with a couple of spectacular moments thrown in.

As for the newsletter, that's another edition in the bag, so thanks to all the contributors, their work is appreciated, and thanks to all of you who take the time read our work and comment on it. In a fortnight's time we'll do it all again (and with everyone back in action), but, until then, take care, enjoy the PPV, don't take life to seriously (after all, it's only going to come to an end anyway) and smile at least once every day.
In the nicest possible way, there have been many newsletters better than this one.
I don't know how else to say it without seeming harsh, but it's the weakest in the long time and that Probe was one of the worst I've ever read - half SHL for being a really rubbish probee, half Saz for the reasons that I've noted before (the PM probe doesn't get the best out of people - and if this was done on MSN, it's even worse), and an extra third half to blame on DC for the placing of it; almost smack bang in the middle of the newsletter. It's just another newsletter feature now, and nothing really stands out as must-read anymore, which is sad.
Room 101 was quickly becoming that, but obviously that wasn't to be for this week.
That Probe was awful. Read like a Bill O'reilly interview. I mean really. A segment with a member on a wrestling forum and it turns into an assault on rap? That was pretty dumb.
And my final comments in the round table being excluded automatically makes this newsletter not-awesome.
E for effort, of course.

But on the flipside, what did SHL do to defend it? "Yeah I love rap... umm... err..." that's all it was. It did absolutely nothing to convince anyone that there's something to his opinions. And this is from someone who does actually like rap on a casual level. But SHL is the kinda guy who could really turn you off it, just because of how he is.
Yeah, just wasn't good. How long has SHL even been a member on this site? There has to be a ton of people who have been around for years and could possibly actually have something to say. SHL is only just becoming someone intwined within the TWO community, and on top of that he's a pretty low-key guy. Just a bad idea all around.

I kind of felt sorry for SHL. He said he didn't like sexual lyrics and the questions kept coming. It sounded to me like he was embarrassed about answered them. He seems like a nice guy.

, how many times? really. I have never said that match was anything short of sh*t, surely you column should be called quote, misquote
It was the only bad TNA match that I could thing of at that time. Given more time I would have looked around for another. Besides it was a joke not to be taken seriously. Quote/Unquote isn't supposed to be serious, it's me taking the piss out of stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

This is the 1st newsletter Ive managed to read in full since DC's 2nd edition, because for some reason the majority of it is filtered on the Library PC's. I do appreciate the effort of everyone involved, but just find it too long a read.
SHL's probe was lacklustre-his answers needed more content to them, and they couldve been a bit more gritty and edgy. Surely the probe is there to push the boundaries somewhat, and get sh*t of your chest, but he was far too goody two shoes for my liking, which comes across as boring!
More than that, the Probe is too safe from Saz's side. He's trying to ask questions that will get some kind of answer but I assume it's PM to PM because he doesn't chase up on any of the answers or push for elborations. It's just writing a series of questions that people think is what the Probe is all about, which it isn't, receiving the responses back, and changing some of the questions to look like it is more conversational when really it isn't. The probe isn't so much an interview but more a conversation and that has been lost. Now it's just the Member Spotlight but with the "who do you hate" question somewhere along the way, which is what everyone mistakes the Probe as needing and being.
It's just another thing to read, now. It's no longer "oh hey, the new newsletter is out - I HAVE to read this to see what the Probe says." It's just there.
Being brutally honest, I hated this edition of the newsletter. The lack of some columns really hurt it, but some of the others are just "there". Over the next few days (being off from work will give me some time), I'll be revamping things, but it's fair to say the current version of The Probe has failed, so I'll be looking at that.
It's not that the columns posted were bad, for the most part, it was more that there was little inspiration with them. Movie Mayhem is my personal baby and I felt that this time out it was an inoffensive read and tribute to a much-loved movie personality (besides, as the editor's column, it's here to stay... but maybe with a different angle). The Members Spotlight was set to be revamped before this issue "went to press" as Nimf felt it was getting a bit stale. Fiona has taken her piece in a new direction recently by taking all the quotes from one topic, giving it a bit of perspective, while Room 101 was sorely missed, as was Ghettoblastin'. Darkstar's Blabbermouth can't really get stale since it has no set format and The Hot Topic had the potential to be something good, but was basically stillborn.
Some of the other columns are past their sell-by-date and, once discussed with their respective writers (and Kam), will be reworked or replaced (the columns, not necessarily the writers).
I, along with the other writers, work hard to bring this newsletter to you, giving up our own personal time to do so, but that doesn't mean it can be phoned in. Since I've taken over, we've only had one other newsletter tank and that was the first one. A lot of the columns and writers weren't around then, so we listened, added things to the mix and had a good run of success. Now, the time has come again to try and bounce back.
I will say this though, if anyone feels the newsletter is too long, you don't have to read it in one go. It's not going anywhere and will still be here whenever you come back to it.

This sums it up pretty much perfectly. I am contradictory to myself though, as I still listen to them, but I won't defend such lyrics. I can listen to them though, as I don't read into them when I'm listening to them.
It's hard to explain.
As for the newsletter, it was good, not the best, but still good.
