Tazz, the guy presenting it, was a huge star in the 90s, as was Raven and guys like Shane Douglas and Rob Van Dam, but not one of them gets even a passing mention. Lex Luger, Lex f'n Luger gets in, yet Goldberg, Vader, The New Age Outlaws, Terry Funk (OK, he could go in a 70s or 80s collection, so we'll let him slide), Rick Rude, The Giant/Big Show, The Ultimate Warrior, Sid and Kane all missed out?
I would disagree with the statement.

While Raven, Shane Douglas and Rob Van Dam were great wrestlers, i don't think they were huge "Stars" in the 90s, Raven being the biggest of the 3 given his time in WCW. I don't know why Goldberg was missed given he was the biggest star outside WWF IMHO.

Lex Luger was a huge star in the 90's from being the WCW champion in 91 to the Lex Express work in the WWF to his shocking return on Nitro and fued with the NWO, in fact he had probably done more than say HHH in the 1990's Hunters peak was in 2000 and beyond.

Yeah, I mean DC is an ECW mark and all, but Raven et al were not as big as the WWF and WCW guys. I mean, who the hell would you take out to put in RVD and Raven and Sandman?

I was looking at it more from a balance point of view since Tazz said it would be the biggest stars of the 90s feauturing all three companies.

I need to ask, Jay, are you disagreeing with the whole statement or just the part about the ECW guys?

As for who would I have taken out of the ones listed for the guys I feel should have been included, I'd have to say that I would have taken out Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Ric Flair (I think he is a star of the 80s more than the 90s) and Lex Luger. Replacing them would have been Vader, Goldberg, Taz and RVD.

I personally feel that, in the 1990s, Yokozuna was a mid-carder for the majority of his WWE run, Flair was misused for a lot of the 90s, Lex didn't actually do that much and Owen Hart, while a big-name wrestler, wasn't a star.

I mean, seriously, if you were asked to chose who the bigger star in the 90s was, Owen Hart or Bill Goldberg, who would you choose?

Perhaps they should have done this in two parts - early 90's and late 90's, to fit more people in?

Yeah, I'd definitely agree Goldberg should have been in.

Yoko did main event a few Wrestlemanias remember, he was on top in WWF for a couple years. It was a bad time for WWF and he wasnt any good, but he still was. Owen is a strange one - he wasnt a big star but he had longevity from being a 'midcard star', if you will, pretty much the whole time. Luger was a fairly big star in the early years in both companies, so I'd leave him there. Ric Flair had his WWF Title run in 1992 (which would count for a lot WWE-production wise) and was one of WCW's biggest stars through the entire decade.

Out of all of them I'd say the only one who maybe shouldnt be there is Owen. I'd put Goldberg in for Owen. Vader is iffy, he was a big name in WCW for a couple years, but when you're talking about replacing Luger or Yoko with him they are pretty much interchangeable in terms of how 'big' they were, so it comes down to who you prefer really. Taz and RVD no way, they just dont compare to these guys.

This DVD by nature had to fit a lot of people in. You yourself already said that the guys only got 15 minutes and it was rushed. If you're looking at guys from the entire 90s in wrestling, you're going to have to leave some good guys out. You cant put everyone in, and when you start talking about ECW guys who were nowhere near the stars that the others were it really smacks of trying to fit everyone in (especially everyone that you like).

In terms of the really major stars I think they've done OK, outside of Goldberg obviously.
