"The Kingdom"

I bought this a couple of weeks ago on the basis that it had good reviews on the sleeve and it's stunning.

Directed by Lars von Triers, it's a five hour long film, edited into hour-long episodes. It concerns a Danish hospital called "The Kingdom" where all sorts of eerie occurances happen.

The whole thing is in Danish and is subtitles but don't let it put you off: it's well worth your time - the end scene is so sublimely horrifying that Lars' humerous speech during the end-credits becomes ultre-surreal.

(BTW: I've not given much detail about the story as it's so twisty-turney that it's take too long. Plus when discussing the film with the people I watched it with revealed that we all had different ideas as to what the film was about!)

Hmmmm sounds intriguing, is it availiable on DVD here? How much is it?

Picked it up in Virgin Bristol, £22.99.
