HBK

After watching Summer Slam, I really did wonder is Shawn's back actually as bad as everyone said?

Before the match I was expecting him to sell less than an Afghan travel agent, yet he did loads of risky stuff. The topes, the plancha, the chairs to the back, the hard shoulderblocks, the backbreakers.

And apparantly he was fine after the match. HHmmm just how bad is his back?

it has been four years so his back was bound to heal to a certain degree where he could take a certain amount or bumps and risks and also he could have just did what Mick foley did and suck up the pain and just bear the pain through the match.

another thing is the annoncers (and WWE) could have just been milking the injury to get us to feel sorry for Shawn Michaels

The "milking it" was wrestling psychology, every bump he took was multiplied by 10 because we knew about his previous injury, they worked it into the match storyline and this made for great psychology in the match

Whether or not HBK had played mind games regarding his back is secondary. He delivered a first rate performance despite the scepticism of those inside and outside the wrestling business.

The man is an icon and if used sparingly by the WWE could be involved in some excellent feuds. Imagine HBK v Rock, HBK v Angle, and the one I would really like to see HBK v RVD

I agree that he would be good in the odd match, I'd like to see that if he could, but I think if they had him on TV too much like Hogan he could get irritating.

Matches against guys like RVD and the Rock would be great to see, but I pray he doesnt wrestle HHH again because he'll just end up returning HHH's job just like every other wrestler has ended up doing. I also hope if he started wrestling again that he didnt wear goddamn jeans to the ring.

I'd like HBK not to wrestlefull time, maybe in an occasinal feud and take up another role like comissioner or something. I would not mind seeing a HBK/RVD match next year at Wrestlemania though ....

On a side note I pray to god we don't see a rematch of HHH/HBK at Unforgiven when the outcome would be painfully obvious

i don't know about the HBK vs RVD match-, though HBK's back is healed a bit, RVD is more of a high flyer and his moves are more extreme then HHH's, so i don't know if his back could take so much punsihment AND HBK is not the 1996/1997 self- so he wouldn't be able to display exciting moves. he once did.

-Devil's Advocate-
... then again (and i know this sounds so cold-hearted but...)
it's not my back, and all i care about in the wrestling world is being entertained. so yeah a RVD vs HBK match would be cool...on theroy.
