Paul Burchill

I was messing around on YouTube again, and came across these videos for Paul Burchill. If WWE just let him do what he can do, then he'd be a much bigger star, and they'd reap the benefits themselves.

Video 1
Video 2 (featuring an Andy Boy SImmons cameo)
Video 3 (v Hade Vanson)

It's a shame Vince didn't like the pirate gimmick, it was getting over.

I'm a big fan of Burchill and not just because he's English.

Okay the pirate gimmick was a little silly but it was always done with a wink towards the camera, so to speak. Burchill wasn't trying to convince people that he actually was a pirate. I'm suprised Vince put the stop to it, like I say it was getting over slowly.

That is were i disagree i believe it was getting over quite fast.

I am a big fan of Paul, mainly because he is flying the flag for us brits in the big 'E' plus he is a awesome wrestler.

Seeing as Dave Taylor got injured at the tapings i could see a call up for Paul helping out Regal.

The thing is Sparrow the "sound sweeten squad" on Smackdown! can make things sound like they are more over than they are, and they do do this a lot from the sounds it.

I still believe Burchill's pirate was getting over though, although much slower than you think.

I could be wrong though.

I seen those matches on TWC when FWA was still on. He is a great wrestler and has the tools to become big in the WWE in my view.

Paul Burchill has all the potential in the world, much like Davey Boy Smith did. Whether or not he does return and gets a push, we'll have to wait and see.

I thought he was injured and had been operated on, that's why he wasn't on TV?

I love the gimmick, I love Pirates.

His earlier work including standing shooting star presses and standing moonsaults are superb when he pulls them off.

I remarked though in a thread I started about 2 years ago about Paul burchill ever being able to make it in WWE, as he sweems to have been lost in the mix so to speak now, I'm afraid he will be as underutilised and most of his english compatriots have been in the past.

Though, JBL has been talking up this team of Regal and Taylor and how Brits are out and out tough guys, things maybe about to change in McMahonLand, but don't hold your breath.

Yeah, Burchill was injured and taken off television but according to Power Slam Vince didn't like his gimmick and told him to report back to OVW when he was healthy so they could think of a gimmick change before possibly putting him back on WWE television.

I believe that Burchill is back in OVW now.
