WrestleMania has become one of the most anticipated annual events around the world. On Sunday, April 2, WWE presented WrestleMania 22 at Rosemont's Allstate Arena in Chicago, Ill., before a capacity crowd of more than 17,155 people from 16 countries and 43 states, generating $2.5 million in ticket sales, which set a record for the highest grossing one-day event in the arena's history. Millions in more than 90 countries watched WrestleMania 22 on pay-per-view.

The return to Detroit will mark the 20th anniversary of WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdome, an event that attracted 93,173 fans -- recognized as the world indoor attendance record for any sports or entertainment event. The most anticipated match of the evening was Hulk Hogan defending his WWE Championship against the undefeated Andre the Giant. Hogan got the win after miraculously lifting Andre in the air and slamming him to the canvas in one of the most memorable moments in WWE history.

"I am really looking forward to bringing WrestleMania back to Detroit, an event that will draw thousands upon thousands of fans from across the United States and around the world to the Motor City," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman. "The fans in Detroit are sensational. I know that emotions will be high for WrestleMania 23, and we are going to put on one of the greatest WrestleMania's of all-time, one that will rival the memories of WrestleMania III."

Beyond the excitement of the event itself are the local economic benefits that communities experience from hosting WrestleMania. A study done during WrestleMania XX, held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 14, 2004, found that the event generated an estimated $13.5 million of new economic activity for New York City and created the equivalent of 96 full-year jobs. More than 50 percent of those jobs were in the hospitality sector. Spending related to WrestleMania also generated $2 million in city, state and federal taxes.
I'm actully fairly surprised those by those econmic activity figures. Like i know it's a big event and lasts for a few days but thats a fair chunk of cash.

Well the paid attendance for this years Superbowl held at the venue was 68,206 , considering that some space will be taken up by a stage and the fact that some floor seating will be avaliable, i would'nt be surprised if Wrestlemania can pull in 70,000.

Not definite when yet, but September/October is most likely for General sale.

Although WWE will release a travel package within the next couple of months that will include WM23, (possibly the next night's Raw), the Hall Of Fame, Bacon Bagels and Biceps Brunch, and 2 nights accomodation at a nearby hotel.

If my memory serves me, the WM Travel Packages open up in either July or August.

Lots of money ($$$$s), but you do get everything short of flights.

The package cost REALLY depend on what level you go for and how many people are in the room.

These are the costs from WM-X8 (they're the last ones I have, so it could have gone up from here).

The packages included hotel, Fan Axxess tickets plus a Meet & Greet session with 12 stars (the number might have changed now).

Silver Package: lower tier tickets.
Single Occupancy - $735.
Double Occupancy - $1,050 ($525 per person).
Triple Occupancy - $1,380 ($460 per person).
Quadrouple Occupancy - $1,700 ($425 per person).

Gold Package: floor seating.
Single Occupancy - $855.
Double Occupancy - $1,290 ($645 per person).
Triple Occupancy - $1,740 ($580 per person).
Quadrouple Occupancy - $2,180 ($545 per person).

Platinum Package: "ringside" seating (rows 2-8), keep the chair.
Single Occupancy - $1,130.
Double Occupancy - $1,840 ($920 per person).
Triple Occupancy - $2,250 ($850 per person).
Quadrouple Occupancy - $3,280 ($820 per person).

Note that March/April is still cheap for flights, so you'll get a decent price.

RAW/SD tickets cost upto about $80-90 per seat, depending on where you sit.

Both lots you want to book as early as possible.
