Good Column but as i don't know a lot about the british wrestling scene and -more specifically- have never seen the FWA in action, i can't really disagree or agree with Aaron. but hopefully on March 3rd...i'll be able to make my mind up

???

First off Aaron, how many F.W.A shows have you seen??

And second Alex Shane IMO is a good worker, not the best but solid and i think the reason he is classed as one of the top british wrestlers is easy, its because he is!!!!!

And before you jump on your high horse, I am a wrestling fan, mainly a british wrestling fan and I have seen Hammerlock, TWA, Premier Promotions and the likes but I must say the FWA are by far the best british promotion I have ever seen!!!
I sat through the entire Hammerlock TWC tappings! And that IMO was nasty, but since then i havent missed a Premier show (and if you have never heard of them they are an old school promotion in the south of England!) And I try to get to as many FWA shows as is humanly possible!

Hey thats the end of my rant!!!

But one last point Alex may not be the GREATEST worker in the country but he is one of the best SHOWMEN!!!!! Long live the Showstealer!!!!

yeah, how many guys have proved in the wwf that you don't have to be the greatest in ring performer to be the biggest star?

Yes....but the FWA isn't the WWF and England isn't America.

Hi

For your information i have watched FWA many times on tape, although i haven't been to one of their live shows.

Alex Shane doesn't come close to being a good star, infact imagine The Rock, now imagine The Rock dressed down wearing clothes from Oxfam. I think you know where i am going with this, but Alex Shane is a poor man's Rock.

The FWA aren't fantastic, they are passable, but they are not something out of this world. And yes i know of Premier Promotions, TWA, Hammerlock.

Just in case you think i just write a column and thats all i do then you'll be wrong. I have promoted a show, and i am promoting another show on March 23rd in Nottingham. I also go to alot of shows and was at a CSF show Saturday night, and actually spoke to Adam South and Tom Lancaster who are present at FWA shows. I also sat with Deacon Despair, Kev O'Neil, GBH and Keith Massy.

But the Fwa are not the greatest, if you like them, then thats up to you. But i gave out a vaild point and if anyone thinks Alex Shane is better than Test, Shjnya Hasimoto, Kendo Ka Shin, Lance Storm, Sabu, Shane Douglaus and many more names in the biz, if you really think he is that good then your brain washed and dont get to see all the other great promotions not just in this country, but worldwide.

Alex Shane was ranked 43 in PowerSlam Magazine, and if you read my column you will learn its about politics, well politics dont work for me, and it sure dont brain wash me.

There is alot better than the FWA, they are good, but not as good as is made out. i have been going to British wrestling matches for 20 yrs, i am now 27, so a fan since i was 5 years old, i was 5 when i saw my first live match, and i was fortuanate enough to go to matches once every 2 weeks. I have seen hundreds of promotions and sadly FWA are average.

They want to be like the WWF, but anyone that remembers British wrestling will know that it used to have its own style and its own style of wrestling and gimmicks. Sadly Alex Shane wanting to be The Rock, and going on Talk Sport Radio isn't going to change my views on him, and it sure isnt going to change my views on the FWA.

Subject over!!!!!!

You can be the FWA's biggest fan, you can think that Alex Shane is the best in the world, sadly your wrong, sadly your blind to your own eyes.!!!!!!!!

GO AND SEE ALL THE OTHER PROMOTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY, I GAURANTEE YOU WILL FIND A BETTER SHOW THAN THE FWA.

whoa whoa, i never said for a second he was "that damn good", but you can see why he's supposed to be the biggest star in the UK. No in my opinion he's not as good as any of the guys you mentioned, but by the same token in my opinion the Rock isn't as good as Lance Storm and we all know which one's the biggest star.

British feds like the FWA need to be taken at face value. No they aren't going to be as well produced and glitzy as the WWF, no their promos aren't going to be as funny. But I have got FWA tapes and they keep me entertained, and Alex Shane is one of the guys that does it. He's not the best guy in the FWA, let alone the UK in my opinion, but I can see why he's becoming the biggest star here.

Aaron, I've seen FWA and NWA-UK Hammerlock. My mate has seen those two plus TWA, K-star and some tribute show. We both agreed entirely that FWA produced the better shows. You may start yapping on about how I'm "blind" or something, but I couldn't care less what you think, mate. It's down to opinion. I think if any UK-promotion becomes national (i.e. national TV deal, more media exposure etc) then it will be FWA. Its not WWF but UK needs an alternative. FWA has great talent in Doug Williams, Jodie Fleisch and a few more. They have some great matches and although some of the product can be dire, I honestly think that FWA will make it big, and I think Tommy Boyd will help out because he may know nothing about wrestling, but he has many connections and is one of the reasons why Revival happened. I think FWA is extremely entertaining at a time where I really need an alternative to McMahon-TV. And if Aaron, you have a problem, spit it out, cause I'd love to hear it, just don't think it will make a difference.

Aaron, Im blind???

And I take it your an accountant? (27, watching for 20 years and your first show is when you were 5)

I know the FWA arent the WWF and to me thats good because the WWF have gone down alot in my estimations!
And I have heard rumors (true or not) that Alex was asked to send a tape to Paul Heyman, ECf'nW, which was once if im not mistaken the 3rd biggest fed in america?

The FWA havent been established as long as some of these feds that you are mentioning but they are the most entertaining!!!
Why do people watch the WWF? To be entertained! Because they like the sports entertainment side of wrestling!!!

People have to remember the FWA are not a multi-million doller organisation, but a fed that has only been running since the late 90s and it was started by one man!

Oh and dropping names are we! Dean Ayass is a close friend (FWA manager ex-NWA ring announcer), as to is Mark Priest (FWA commentator ex-BRAWL wrestler), and before you start comenting on them being with the FWA i have Known them both since before they got envolved with the FWA!!!!!!!

And that is IMO so shoot me down if you want, but all I can say is I HAVENT BEEN BRAIN WASHED!!! (unless it was at that first time at training LOL)

How about you actually come to an FWA show rather than just slagging them of from what you have seen on video!!!!!!!
And you know what they say "seeing is beliving"
Tell me why people like me have to agree with what you say? because you do a column on the internet? That makes you better than me does it? that makes you better than other wrestling fans?
