1PW Dead... Again

Quote:
Hi.

In short, 1PW Pain In The Park – is NOT going ahead. And 1PW will not be running any more shows until further notice. If you would like to know. Carry on reading. If not. At least you know

Why isn’t it going ahead? As it was well documented by myself, May’s show went horribly wrong, due to nobodies fault but my own.

4AS – tried the way of running a show with a big attraction name, and a few smaller Americans, it went ok. Nobody was left needing to be paid. The only people that lost money were Myself, Chris & the investors, which we could just about live with.

I was really deflated by it, and still dealing with some crappy personal things I shut out everyone,

Will Not Cancel – we didn’t cancel, but again another show, another loss.

The New Divide, with this I thought id try something different again. Scrap the huge cost of a big import. And use that budget for a number of mid / High card level guys. More attractions, more casual fans.. right? The fact TNA had pushed a number of the guys we had booked, only went in my favour so I couldn’t have picked the better guys?

anyway. I went into new divide with a gate figure I needed to make. Just Like i did at 4as (which we did make)

given the factors of id paid the venue to promote, id had a few friends and fans promote there areas of Liverpool. I truly believed we were going to sail into new divide, strong and in the plus side. Pre ticket sales were not great, but with the issues of the web shop earlier on in the year. Wasn’t a surprise.

So, the show comes and goes, you all know. Now Pain in the Park.

There are still a number of outstanding debts, which have yet to be paid. There is a plan in place. And will become known soon as its finalised to make sure the debts are settled. And when I feel its more viable, and I can truly learn from previous mistakes. Then who knows 1PW may well return. But as it stands I don’t think its wise for me to continue running a promotion when 1) am still learning too. 2) its losing too much money. 3) learn to know when for now am beaten. I put so much effort and energy into the shows. Countless sleepless nights, and for what? Something, somewhere, is still going wrong. Speculate as much as you like. Give your opinions. That’s great. Its easy to give this, but the old saying goes. “walk a mile in my shoes” nobody can make me feel worse and pretty much a let down then I already feel. But that’s life at the end of the day. Fans of UK Wrestling deserve BETTER. there are to many scammers here. all want to make a quick buck. i don't want to be one of them.

there are still good promotions out there, there is no shortage for people that want a live wrestling fix. PBW, may be in Scotland, but its so so worth the drive up for any fan. You’ve got FWA, they run more around there UK now, there production values are some of, it not the best in the UK. there is XWA. I’ve been in Morecombe and Lancaster a lot these last few weeks, everywhere you look, there is posters for there shows. They do look good. Attend these shows, and give them the support you’ve shown 1PW over the years. I could carry on listing promotions, but go find them in your own time, it will be worth it.

Tickets.

only a really small amount of tickets were sold, and that will be sorted asap too.

I wont be doing a runner here. But I may not also be able to respond the quickest now a days.

I can be reached on here via PM, email: danny-rodd@live.co.uk or sales@oneprowrestling.com am on Facebook “Danny Rodd” and am sure even some of you may have my number.

So its not the end of 1PW, its just see you down the road.

Danny

Owner number 3 has given in. Ho hum.

Having been a promoter myself, I can at some way give a little sympathy towards Danny Rodd's situation.

Yeah, you're the promoter and you put the money in, it's great when it's high, but I think we'll see a few more people close doors before the end of the year.

I had a laugh to see the quote for my old PL license renew come in. It had jumped up by £400. Venues are asking for more and more money for you to use them and a lot of wrestlers ask for more than they are worth in the draw stakes.

People are scrimping and saving and hey, WWE's on TV, so there's no need to take the kids out for a live show.

Things are going to get a lot worse for everyone in UK wrestling, I'm glad I'm not investing my own money in it anymore!
