Let's do it!
Top 5 so far:
Magnetic Fields -Love At The Bottom Of The Sea
Sleigh Bells - Reign Of Terror
Mark Lanegan - Blues Funeral
Leonard Cohen- Old Ideas

Add some and we'll discuss them all in depth. Or just fill the thread with videos.Self pity and conceit are not wrong. Your mother was in error.

The Gravedigger's Song is so badass, Blues Funeral is such a good album.
So 2012 and I'm still hoping for Soundgarden to finally release their album, it's already been pushed back to Autumn...just hope it isn't Chinese Democracy'd back too much.
And John Frusciante and QOTSA are rumoured to release albums so yay!

Hadn't heard about Frusciante and QOTSA, really interested to see what Homme comes up with this time around. Shouldn't really be suprised that Frusciante is coming out with something though, he does seem to release something every six weeks. I've actually been listening to Niandra Lades and Shadows Collide with People a lot recently after listening to To Record Only Water for Ten Days a couple of hundred times. It's strange how much I like his solo stuff despite not really liking the RHCP. Although when a guy has a song called ''Your Pussy's Glued to a Building on Fire'' it's hard not to dig him.Self pity and conceit are not wrong. Your mother was in error.

Thirded on the Lanegan love. I'm going to see him in Brum a week tomorrow. Must've played Bleeding Muddy Water & Ode To Sad Disco a sum of 250 times between them this last fortnight.MMA... all the way! Still listening to "El Camino" by the Black Keys. How can an album keep getting better every time I listen to it?!

Michael Kiwanuka'a debut album is out in 6 days....looking forward to that on I tell theeMarriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in an institution?

El Camino should be arriving in the post any day now, as should "America Give Up" by Howler?/Growler? Something like that . Got Sleigh Bells' newun on order too. Loved "Treats", on pretty much constant rotation.
I'm also tempted by the new Shins album too.

Visions by Grimes has gotten a ton of hype and pretty much universal acclaim:
Listened to the album a couple of times, hasn't really clicked hugely with me yet, I like this track a lot, though.Self pity and conceit are not wrong. Your mother was in error.

Jack White has a solo album coming out at the end of April, it could be a kinda Blood & Chocolate deal or just some songs from him, either way it should be good:
Finally got around to the Cloud Nothings release, really different from the first album, no more lo fi power pop garage... stuff, but I like it a lot, a lot heavier and it's always cool when bands try something new:
Open Your Heart by The Men:
This is an awesome track.Self pity and conceit are not wrong. Your mother was in error.

My favourite Smashing Pumpkins-sounding band, Silversun Pickups have their new album coming out next month - Neck Of The Woods.
The 9 year old in me is more unashamed in admitting I can't wait for the new Marilyn Manson album, too...
