    Ghost Beach - Crazy Heart
This isn't too bad. It's got a kinda nice beat going to it, but it does sound like it wouldn't be out of place used on adverts. I can see it being used to advertise an Alfa Romeo or something like that. It's inoffensive enough, not something I'd go out of my way to track down, but listenable enough. A fairly standard 6/10

    Take That - Love Love
My first thoughts is that there's more than a little similarity (in my mind) between this and Fletch's first pick. I can definitely see where you're at musically right now! I can't hate on Take That because it's impossible to hate any group of guys who can do the whole split up/reform thing and actually pull it off. Instead of just pimping themselves out on the back of their old songs, they've actually gone out the way to try something new and different.

Not that I actually like it, but you've gotta appreciate what they've achieved. Mrs Deeser's singing along, so that's provided me with some amusement from the song. The Xmen clips help too. I'ma score this a plain ol' average (and by my usual music tastes, generous) 5/10

    Ghost Beach: Crazy Heart

The tracks a bit busy for my tastes, and the chorus is very like someone else but I forget who. Its not bad, just not great. I cant really get into it to be honest. Also despite being only a shade over 3 minutes it felt like it went on forever! 6/10

    Take That - Love Love

Take That are ace! Their first run in the 90s was very 'blah' and run of the mill boy band, but since they returned properly in 2006 they have been on absolute fire! This isnt their best track, but its still amazing and I have no issue with loving it. An easy score for me 9/10

    Pulp - Help The Aged

I may well be committing some kind of blasphemy, but Pulp? Meh. Really middle of the road for me. This one sits firmly on the side of "ick" for me. Not a fan at all. Jarvis IS cool, but the music does nothing for me.
    4/10

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

I was always more on the Pearl Jam/Alice In Chains side of the Seattle music scene, and this is a real overkill of a song. However, this version is brilliant, purely for the fact that Kurt just doesn't give a damn. Almost makes me like the song again
    6/10

    Fletch

    Ghost Beach - Crazy Heart

Reminds me of early Simple Minds, not a bad thing as pre Breakfast Club minds were pretty damned awesome. I like this a lot.
    8/10

    Take That - Love Love

Dear lord, make it stop. Thanks, me.

Chris and Anime are up on Saturday. Anime you need to review the other tracks before it's your turn.

Btw, can a mod make this sticky and remove the old MC?

WOOOOOO!!! It's Saturday, which means I get to make my picks!

First up (in honour of the AWESOME gig I saw last night) we have the frankly brilliant Red Fang with the song "Wires" taken from their latest album. Even if you don't like the song, I recommend you watch the video. I can't think of a greater way of watching $5000 disappear.

And for my second choice let's head in a different direction. Here's "Hitz" by Chase and Status (feat. Tinie Tempah):

    Red Fang - Wires

The song bored the life out of me. Far, far too long for what was a very by the numbers track. The video was fun, but Blink182 did the same gimmick far better. 4/10

Chase and Status (feat. Tinie Tempah): Hitz

Deeser, a NSFW lable would have been the thing to do. Anyway, better than the last track, but only just. But Im not a big fan of this sort of stuff. 5/10

    Pulp - Help The Aged
Great song! I was more of a Blur fan at the time but Jarvis Cocker's got a great voice, the music's pretty good too. 8/10

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
I'm torn, in all honesty it's a terrible version of the song, but it's a song I really like, but that was the point.. gonna go with a sorta above average 6/10.

    Ghost Beach - Crazy Heart
Not bad at all. Nothing at all to not like in this 8/10

    Take That - Love Love
They just sound like a Muse knock off now, not a particularly good one either, inoffensive but it doesn't work for me at all. Also Gaaaaryy Bahhhlow. 3/10

    Red Fang - Wires
Love this, great guitar track on it. Fun video too, the bit with the beer made me laugh. 8/10

Chase and Status (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Hitz
Love this too. Big fan of Tinie Tempah. Love the beat and the rapping 8/10

    Finally my 2 tracks

Bjork - Army Of Me *NSFW*

Lupe Fiasco - SLR (Super Lupe Rap) *NSFW*

dsrchris (if that even is your real name)

    Red Fang - Wires
I **love** this! Great song, great video - I will be finding more of these guys. Brilliant!
    10/10

Chase and Status (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Hitz
Not my scene at all. Can't get into this at all. A let down after the killer first track. Sorry :/
    1/10

    Anime Otaku

    BahJork - Army Of Me
I've always kinda liked this one, one of the few BahJork tracks I can put up with... having said that, her voice does my nut in. She could grate cheese 2 miles away with that.
    6/10

    Lupe Fiasco - SLR
I can't stand this either, sorry

Time for my picks then, I guess

Ginger - You’re The One, You’re The One, Yeah, I Know You’re The One, You’re The One (Yeah, I Know You’re The One)

Ginger is doing a triple album project that was funded by pledgers - he's way over the 500% mark for funding, so he released this to them as an early thank you - this track isn't part of the album project.

    The Union - Obsession

From the forthcoming single to go with the tour in March.
