Yeah. That's pretty much him disregarding that law, even to save everybody from the doom of having no stars! NO. FREAKING. STARS. Or... The end of the universe... Or something, I forget the point because all I could see was a giant Deus Ex Machina.

Thats Doctor Who for you.But it does prove my point, he can is often does ignore the rules in order to do whatever the story needs. Hell the writers themselves have been told not to worry about continuity too much.

In regards to the whole Doctor in the Pandorica etc etc going back and forth and seeing his dead-self etc, yeah that was utter gobshite. Frankly the previous episode was brilliant, and heart-wrenching and he got put in the Pandorica... and then they just f'ed it all up with a cheap and nonsensical way out, so when he disappeared into the explosion, and no-one remembered him, no-one gave a shit watching it.

While the Multi-Doctor stories don't tend to be the best they do have a charm to them and it does let you have a little geek out.
The Three Doctors is probably the best of them if you discount Time-Crash.
I'd doubt that Ecclestone would do it, but you could no doubt get the Bakers, McCoy, Davidson McGann and Tennant to reprise the role for a one off. Its what the 50th anniversary is calling out for really.
Personally I'd like to see the return of the Master. We never did learn what made the TARDIS explode in the first place at the end of Series 5.
John Simm has openly expressed interest, and I think it would be amazing to see how his Master is with Smith, but I have a feeling given the state Simm's Master was at The End of Time, he'd probably have regenerated.

All the show is missing is Captain Jack. Bring him back and it will be good again.
That's not the answer but I've heard it may happen, for an episode or two since Torchwood is now in limbo.
