I get a lot of my music recommendations from Reno. Seriously. From what I can make out we have pretty much the same taste in things musical, so if he says it's good I'll generally give it a listen.

Without Reno I wouldn't have the delights of the latest Kid Cudi album.

As I've not seen it mentioned yet, Aurgasm.us is an absolutely cracking site for finding out about little-known musicians. Gives you a little bit of information on featured bands and recommends a piece or two of their work.

I also love last.fm and would sacrifice a limb for it.

Funnily enough, I'm not particularly a fan of it either.

Glad I could be of service!

I get some recommendations from Dr. ZERO every now and again, without him, I probably wouldn't have found MOVITS!

I mostly find out about new bands/music from word of mouth/friends. Also youtube recommendations, and of course the almighty Last.FM.

I'm mostly known as a metalhead, but I like a wide variety of music. I'm a wannabe musician having played guitar since I was 12 and bass off and on since about 16, so I'm always looking for something new and inspiring. I could be listening to Slayer one minute and Siouxsie and the Banshees followed by Massive Attack and then Job for a Cowboy, Chelsea Grin or the Pixies... then some Ramones... I never know what I'm gonna be in the mood for till I hear it.

Sometimes YouTube, but mostly I discover new rappers via them guesting on other rappers albums.

It's like a chain reaction. For example, say I'm listening to Rapper A's album, Rapper B is featured as a guest, then I might buy Rapper B's album. Then, listening to Rapper B's album, Rapper C is a guest. So I check out Rapper C's album. Where Rapper D has a guest feature. And so it goes on.

Have you tried Last.FM? Although, that said, it's no fun at all if you don't have a relatively well stocked iTunes.

Do you connect your Last fm account with your Itunes? Because my Itunes is quite empty but my Ipod has loads and loads of music.
I can't listen to a lot of todays bands because even if their music is reasonably good, if the band don't have a likeability about them and seem like knobs I won't listen to them. Much like why I won't listen to the Arctic Monkeys or Oasis.

You can make a Last.FM without a packed iTunes, but, that means you have to enter the bands you like manually, otherwise it scans your library and predicts your music taste.

Yeah Lastfm is alright. I'm also one who does a lot of research on bands and influences which makes me look for more on YouTube.

I wouldn't have even touched on some music like The Who or Neil Young if I wasn't so Pearl Jam crazy.
