com'on lets face facts the 80's had better music than any other decade, or well I think so, the 60's came close, but the 80's is nice.
I would just wanna see what people think was the best song of the eighties ?

My favourite song from the eighties is With or Without You by U2.

As far U2 LPs go, I prefer Achtung Baby to the Joshua Tree myself.

Best song of the 80s? Probably Two Tribes by Frankie.

I think both Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree are fantastic but I agree with Grapple, Achtung Baby is better.

Tut, tut, tut, The Black Album was released in 1991 and is very obviously inferior to the classic 3.

Some great 'tallica songs and instrumentals from the 80s, (in chronological order), include...

Four Horsemen
Phantom Lord
Seek & Destroy
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Fade To Black
Creeping Death
Call Of Ktulu
Battery
Master Of Puppets
Disposable Heroes
Orion
Blackened
...And Justice For All
One
To Live Is To Die

Given that choice I couldn't really pick a favourite.

U2's where the streets have no name is the best 80's song IMO

Hmmmm, which Simple Minds song to choose...

Could it be Alive & Kicking or Don't You Forget About Me...two of my karaoke masterclass favourites...or could it be something like I Travel or Sanctify Yourself.

Course, it could be so many songs...even something by Yello (and I don't mean "Oh yeah")

Hmmm, best song of the 80's...christ, you're talking about when music was music...Def Leppard, Adam Ant, Elton John (shut it right), Elvis Costello, Duran Duran, U2, Simple Minds, Yello...etc, etc, etc.

"Open Your Arms" and "Goodwill City" by Goodbye Mr MacKenzie will never get the recognition they deserve...so for that reason alone i'm going with, "Open Your Arms". Although, "Motown Junk" by the Manic Street Preachers gets close.

I was always partial to "My Sharona" by The Knack, but a lot of the Adam & The Ants stuff was cool... I liked the one hit wonders as well... Men Without Hats, Nena...
