View Full Version : TWO Most interesting, cringey, real-life-meets-TWO moments.

This is probably one for the longer term members but anyways...
Because I'm bored I've been flicking through the general chat threads from it's very begining and found a couple of fairly juicy threads that had been closed. Mostly they were things about people storming off or claiming things against other people or outing peoples secrets etc..
It was quite addictive! Like rediscovering an old soap opera but not having seen the first few episodes so you don't quite know who everyone is!
So, what are the stand out, thread-closing, flame posting, toys out of the pram, full on F5 arguement moments from TWO's past? The "incidents" that are part of the fabric of TWO, such as RM's fake death or Tanya the not so lesbian.
Spill the beans you guys! Perhaps you can explain some of the more shrouded moments?

true, actually I hadn't really thought about that part of it given that people are likely still to be here and might not like old stuff rementioned.....
Well I'll bow to any decision to delete the thread before it starts if so decided...
EDIT: On a side note it was interesting to see how many times I found a post by M1tchell in there! Proper little stirer.... ;)
I think I'm gonna check back later and see how this develops.

I remember something like that nearly happening in the "Terrorism" thread. I'm not too sure what went on, because alot of people's comments got deleted before I could read them, leading to very odd reading.

i think one of the members of the board was based over there, can't remember if they were pro-Israel or pro- Palestine, just remember it getting quite heated and every post being about 3-4 paragraphs long so i stopped reading in the end and read Penny Arcade instead

You know I used to be admin, right? Half the time, I had to be involved. Although truth be told, I was in a hell of a lot more arguments as admin than at any other time on TWO. I used to be on fire :)
As for great moments, The Gang were fun. Tanya the lesbian was fun. Jess and the three-man band was a little too much, but I bet an outsider would have loved it.
On a personal note, I had a lot of "heat" with Goldy and her little band of w*nkers too because we used to have phone sex and I implied (admittedly I wored it real badly and didn't really think about what I was writing) that we slept together when I really meant a certain non-meeting incident. Her boyfriend didn't believe me but that was his problem. I say his problem, but almost everyone came out of the woodwork to attack me. Even people I don't actually know. And Pabster, who is a two-faced jerkbag. Hopefully they all have cancer or their parents have been hit by buses. Anyway, I actually became friends with her after that through meeting at FCW, but then we never spoke and the last time she was on TWO, she just talked a load of crap and luckily she was gone the next day. So yeah...
I also enjoyed the unravelling of "RX". 1) because they were so far up their own arses in believing they actually meant something more than a group of guys trying to gain power and undermine others on a message board that it was really funny to observe, and 2) because MachoMat was a stupid piece of s**t and I hope his God laughs in his face come judgement day and sends him to hell.
Other than that... yeah, loads.
Truth be told, a lot of the fun happened in the mod forum. That place was fantastic for Fill trying to suck Kam off to get more power and watching him fail. And boy did he unravel.
And my personal favourite - the Ravenmark reveal. I still remember when I MSNed Kam about it being weird and suddenly finding myself in a Conference with 2 other mods who all thought the same thing. The consequent thread was amazing and I wish Kam would HoF it because it was far more interesting, IMO, than the subsequent thread I wrote in General chat where it all became public.
I can remember loads but those are the few stand-outs.
i seem to remember one about Israel and Palestine a while back getting quite heated and then being shut down

As for myself, I seem to remember the time I got together with Darkstar's sister and the fallout from that being a bit heated at times.
I really hope this is a joke considering the scare you had in the past and the fact that I've been there and done that.
It was tongue in cheek, although I wouldn't really care if they had it or not.
If New Jack can get away with it, so can I :)

Hey, can we throw in you and Vikki to this thread? Not in depth for obvious reasons, but I remember you quit here one night after something said in the chatroom. Or something. I think this was after you "declared your love" for her? My memory is sketchy but when you went out, I remember someone quitting over something. Or am I going insane?

Man, I loved some of those arguments and when I think about them now, I have to laugh, absolute stupidity for the most part, well on my part anyway.
I've always been that way I enjoy the debates, the FU I'm right and your not kind of thing, what I found most interesting was if you were to argue with me in a real world scenario I'd probably laugh and get on with my work.
I'm not going to go into the whole RX thing it's old and stale, but it was fun while it lasted. Pushing buttons and watching reactions is so old to me now.
I can't see the point anymore, opinions are opinions, there are no facts just best guesses, but if you tell me I'm wrong I'll still say I'm right.
I think it was a lot of jostling for respect and having your opinion respected, and a lot of huff and puff bull****.
Anyway I'm leaving now you've all bored me except The Bongo because well he's Inno.
Psycho Babble Bullshit :D
Sorry dude! ;)
I think Amanda V at one time was going to sued every single member of this site.
Blame Inno for bringing her along :D
The Latland Vs Russ World feud was rather amusing, but very cringeworthy.
She was here LOOOONG before me.
Blame me for getting rid of her, I fired her as a Smash writer as soon as I was given the editors job!
Shout outs to y'all!

Funny really as that was the thread that made me put this thread up. It's an amazing read and is a real window to a TWO gone past! What was the whole RX thing, I've seen a couple of mentions to it in other threads and saw the MachoMat signature and wondered about it?
This is so exciting, its like meeting up with family you never met and finding out they all have shady pasts! I want a shady past too!! :(

Everyone should go back and look at the old Drogba debates. It was pretty much me vs. the entire posting population of Other Sports. I was the only one who thought he was any good. I'd like to take the opportunity now to stick it to Jung, Ray, Proudy and all the other Drogba haterz and say 'I told you so, peasants'. Ha and indeed, ha.

says he who joined 4 months before me.... what a 4 months they must have been! :)
The one that stuck in my mind was when I think the whole of TWO had had enough of a girl called Kate and her extension of the truth. She got a little riled as Mitch had claimed that she had gotten herself pregnant from the boogey man. it's in the hall of fame, read it!
I remember the whole RX thing and the usual crowd getting upset by it, instead of going "meh" and letting itself die out as a mutual Masturb@tion group.
I remember when nicole thought sex was a bad thing, until she discovered sex!
I remember when mitch wouldn't drink, until he discovered alcohol.
I remember blinking repeatedly when I found out that Sunflower had been bonking half the male members of TWO.
Plus that bl**dy gopher! Has been around as long as me!
I've never slept with any members of TWO!

I remember blinking repeatedly when I found out that Sunflower had been bonking half the male members of TWO.There was the infamous "tit out" picture that did the rounds (with hint of pubic region if memory serves).
She was a bit mental was Sunflower. Spoke to her on the phone a few times.
I had a read through the "An Announcement" thread, and there seems to have been some posts deleted, but it really is a funny read. The perils of a youthful life.:lol

She was a bit mental was Sunflower. Spoke to her on the phone a few times. so did i, met her too a couple of times, and i wasnt even a member of the forums back then. weird, psycho, married, alcoholic, bored housewife, nutter. spoke to her hubby on the phone once too after he called up my number and threatened to do bad things to me. he was a lot less scary then her though so it was all good
to the best of my knowledge, or at least what she insists, she never actually bonked anyone from TWO, she just pretended and spouted a lot of crap leading people on.
if anyone here actually did screw Sunflower, speak up now ;)

there were all sorts of rumours though, at various times she bragged to me about Mitchell, Verb, Jayden, DC, Darkstar, Beltmark, Ravenmark, which bearing in mind Mitchell must have been about 16 at the time was kinda bizarre. She basically told me she'd "fallen in love" with me after some debate on the forum where Inno and I were debating (and defeated, I may add ;)) Spirit and her. I know I won because Sunflower conceded and told me that I had turned her on and that she wanted to screw me.

So really, RX what was that all about?
Darkstar
11-12-2007, 08:04 AM
Well, from my point of view it goes as follows:
there was a jokey thread about gang warfare or somesuch. 2 'stables' were created 'The Triad' which was Gringo, Maxx and The Manager, and 'Regeneration X' which was Boyo, myself, Spiritchaser, Machomat and......someone else. We had a jokey war between us which eventually got the thread locked. fair does and all that.
However the people in RX made a introduction thread that went down like a fart in a lift. I saw it as light hearted comedy (admittedly in retrospect a bad idea as well :P) but others saw it as an attempt to undermine Kam. RX 'grew' to add more members including Gringo, Maxx and Christof. We got matching avatars (just wrestlers in gold colours), but the mods went mental and sl;agged us off in every thread, often just for the sake of it. Kam, showing what he thought, switched his normal avatar into an RX one for half hour. :P
However then it went very baddly.
I made a proboard forum for RX to chat, so we could have a laugh without being 'RX' on here. However some memebers of RX used the forum I made to slate the TWO mods. The mods found the forum and reported back to Kam....including the fact that one of the RX members (who was TWO staff at that point) had C+Pd some info from the private forums.
This event made RX collapse as a group as we realised the joke had become too real for a lot of people and had made even Kam start to dislike the group.
All the memebsr (IIRC) apologised, but even to this day people maintain we started it to try to gain power/cause toruble, when in fact we just wanted to have a laugh and have fun; shame it didnt work out that way.
Though I should add thats MY take alone, for all I know macthomat really did want to become the new site admin. :lol

Thats bull. That group went out of it's way to be general bumwipes and try to be cool, when in reality it was a bunch of grown ups pretending they could have gangs, like they did back in school. Bloody pathetic attempt to try and undermine other users, and people didn't get punished enough for it in my opinion.

I never tried to be 'cool' or 'a bumwipe'. I gave my opinion on how it went, if you disagree fine, but thats what I saw it all as. I NEVER went in with the intention of anything other than light hearted fun. Kam saw that in us (hence his avatar change), the issue was people objecting to the group that created all the arguments (Ok some of the guys rose to the bait).
RX was about having fun (to begin), unlike other gangs/cliques/whatever before us who went in trying to cause trouble, insult mods (both forum and chat) and to 'change TWO for the better'.
edit: either way lets not start argument 56785787895969 over this.
Nicole
12-12-2007, 12:22 PM
RX was about trying to be an elite, when frankly all members of the group basically spoke crap on the forums. It wasn't fun when people were writing rubbish on a seperate forum about chat mods, which wasn't exactly revealed straight away.
What Darkstar said about RX is pretty much bang on, and what Nicole is saying is her own misguided opinion.
What caused RX to essentially collapse was two reasons, and two people's fault: mine and Darkstar's.
1. I was the staff member who used to cut 'n' paste all the slaggy things the TWO mods (at the time)used to write about us in the private TWO-Staff forums (I had my own W101 column at the time) and let the RX members read the garbage that Nicole et al were saying about us.
2. However, the entire RX forums were passworded...and Darkstar gave the passwords away, and that's how the TWO mods read all the stuff we were writing about them.
Good times, good times...
What I have always found funny is that the likes of Nicole get so wound up and righteous about the RXers taking the mick out of them in our own private, passworded forums, when they were doing just the same to us in their own private little forums.
Any current staff member wanting to know the real juicy TWO history only has to read the old threads in the staff forums. I did, and it's all fascinating :lol.
Cheers!

I remember seeing Sunflower's picture but not really RX, I think I remember the avatars but I probably avoided the drama. Don't remember Ravenmark's 'death' at all. The most cringe worthy thing thats happened to me is when someone in chat said they thought I was gay because I had a gay rights link in my forum sig even though I also had a comment indicating amourous (sp) feelings towards Hamada Ayako. Another that was either here or on Mitchell's old forum was when someone thought it'd be funny to put my pic on Gaydar.

My profile is on Gaydar somewhere, my workmates put it up ages ago and refused to give me the password to delete it. They update every so often and send homo messages to every gay member in Plymouth thinking it would be funny if I bumped into any of them while I'm out with my g/f.

Oh my God, was the Gang in 2002?! hahaha god it's all so sad.
I can see Nics point though. However the RX members meant for the actions to be taken, they were viewed in different ways by other forum members. Ultimately whatever we do for whatever reasons will be viewed and interpreted differently by others. So even if RX felt they were doing one thing, it got seen as very different by other people. That makes Nic's view of hte situation just as valid as anyone elses I think.

Why would you want it deleted? Couldn't you just have him put you in the 'closed' usergroup, along with Russ, Mr. Perfect and Mr.Knowitall? Then you could always come back, because you never know.
If I leave I'll do a leaving thread most probably, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I wouldn't ask for my account to be deleted or any of that business either. I'd just leave and that would be that, and IF I wanted to come back, then I could. Assuming Kam didn't blow his hard drive and delete everything. But that probably won't happen, he's good with computers... *cough*

What I want to know, is how do people 'decide' to leave? I mean, I dont even think of staying or leaving, I just come online, browse around a handful of sites. Sometimes I come to TWO, sometimes I dont.
Coming to TWO isnt a large (or even small) part of my daily excistance, and its not one of those things where I think either "I need to go on TWO today." nor "Man, I'm so busy and my life has moved for far in a different direction that I cannot log into TWO anymore, I'm leaving!" :lol To me, thats retarded.
If you have time to log into the internet, which we all do and all likely always will do from now on due to how the internet in general is such an intricate part of modern life, then logging onto this site or any other site may or may not happen on any given day you browse the net.
I'd never make an 'I'm leaving!' thread, because its bent. It reaks of attention seeking. If you dont wanna post here anymore for a specific reason, then just take the site off your favourites list and dont give it another thought, but dont give the big goodbye crap, who cares if you stay or go, really?
The site will continue on with a steady slew of new users regardless, YOU really arent that important, and on the other hand, a website shouldnt be that important to you where you have to make conscious decisions on whether you need to continue logging in or not.
Please people, get f*cking real! :lol

I know which I prefer.
Leaving threads seem to be for attention seekers with big egos, maybe they secretly hope people might beg them to stay! Just go away if your going.
I think the way the leaving thread is done is quite important. For example, if you post out all your grievances, a big list of people you didn't like, your 'real' thoughts on people in a quite bitter or angry manner, then yeah, that's bad. That's what makes people dislike leaving threads I think. But what if someone comes on and posts one saying I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here, but i'm moving away and etc etc, it's been a pleasure - take care!
If someone posts that, are you really going to say HEY YOU ATTENTION SEEKING *****! YOU MUST HAVE SUCH A BIG EGO BUT IM NOT RUBBING IT YOU CAN GET LOST LIKE MADELINE MCCANN FOR ALL I CARE!
I mean seriously, get over it. If someone posts a leaving thread, does it really effect you? As long as they don't flame everyone and generally break the forum rules in doing so, I don't see any problem with leaving threads at all.
The site will continue on with a steady slew of new users regardless, YOU really arent that important, and on the other hand, a website shouldnt be that important to you where you have to make conscious decisions on whether you need to continue logging in or not.
I understand your point, but surely if someone has visited this site regularly for a number of years, you'll give never going back more thought than a you would for a random website. At least for me, I have spent a lot of time here, and TWO has always meant a little bit more than most other sites. Is that sad? I don't think so. You can say Ha, you're too attatched to that website, get real! But on the flipside I can say So what, it's my favourite website, I've been there for years, and I don't see anything wrong with taking a few moments to make a thread saying bye. And I seriously don't. Some may find it silly and attention seeking, but I don't think it is at all. And to get on a high horse about it all is just stupid, maybe you should get real.
I think unless there's some super important reason for leavng, then don't do a thread. If you're off to some random no-internet country, oryou're off travellg for a few years, then fair enough. Or ifyou have lots of awful things to say to people that will make for awesome reading...
I think the way the leaving thread is done is quite important. For example, if you post out all your grievances, a big list of people you didn't like, your 'real' thoughts on people in a quite bitter or angry manner, then yeah, that's bad.
Simon's leaving thread is the exception here. Yes it was bitter; yes he was a hateful homophobe; yes, I have no doubt that in the real world, had I met him, I would have gone out of my way never to meet him again. However, his leaving statement was written with such style that to dislike the internet Simon became very difficult. Then, of course, he left so I never had to put that impression to the test...

I find them cathartic it allows you to get out into the open anything that has been annoying you, for both sides, I hate bottling things up it does me no good.
I have to go nuclear in order for everyone to know I'm pissed.
I do it at work or wherever I am everyone knows I'm annoyed.
I think getting it out stops you from being sly, everyone knows the line and thus should respect that line.
I'm no angel and I do get people's back's up, I used to find it amusing, but I now respect their line too, and try not to cross it.

Well apart from people that can not help being funny!
Having written a "farewell" of my own in the past, I always reitterate what I wrote at the top of it:
First of all, to anyone who doesn't enjoy reading someone spill his guts about a website that has given him a lot of opportunity and rant and rave about things that may make him seem like he views himself in a higher light than many others may do, then stop reading. Hit the "Back" button, and go find another thread to entertain. Let me, one last time, have my moment, please.
And you know what? People responded, and gave me messages of good will. I thought it was fair. I've helped this site grow over the years and am the reason for a few people being here in the first place. At the same time - I've gotten loads of TWO.
Without TWO, I wouldn't have met The Blue Meanie and gotten to sit with him for half an hour shooting the breeze with an interview that we could have (and should have) sold and made money from, that's how good the content was. I wouldn't have gotten involved with FCW, met Chris Sabin and Chris Daniels, gotten a stint at wrestling training, for FREE I might add, and seen and met all the things and people I did. This website gave me those opportunities, and I've made some great friends from it. Until we fell out, Fletch and I were best friends and that was due to this site. Colin came to stay with me for a week in September and we were able to live out our fantasies of being radio hosts for a week. Thanks to this site. Indirectly, I decided on my entire future as far as going into radio. That's a huge deal in my life, and TWO is partially responsible for that - the people and the site itself. Hell, this site actually helped GET ME INTO UNIVERSITY! No kidding - I was told I would have a struggle to get into the course I wanted until I showed them the work I'd done for TWO and W101, in terms of images, writings and knowledge of new media software. I was later told that my porfolio was what sold them on me - not my grades - and that I was already offered a place regardless. This site gave me that, and I don't think a single one of you will ever understand how much all of that moulded and shaped, and most of all, meant to me.
So people may hate farewell threads. Personally, I love them. Ok, so I didn't stick mine out (although I always maintain that it was also my swansong as admin, and that has remained until this day - I just expected to have less time to myself going to Uni - turns out I have even more than ever), but it gave me a chance at least to show my appreciation for the people and site that has, whether people like it or not, helped shape my life in a small but very important way. You get out what you put in and I admittedly put in more than most "normal people". Certainly more than I would have done so had I joined now, but I've reaped the rewards from it and for me, if I was going to conscientiously leave the site to start this new life, I want to thank the people I've gotten to know, even in text form (but a few I know in person now). And sure, it's nice to read the messages on your way out. Maybe few others can say this, but I f**king deserved some nice messages from this site :)
Plus, dramabombs are cool :P

Reasonings above. Good day. After going through so much time to script out a long and rambling so long thread, you sure as hell didnt leave for very long, if at all. Pretty much the same as everybody else who has ever written one.
Seems to me people want the attention, but when they realise nobody really gives a toss and the site is exactly the same whether they are there or not, they make an excuse and creep back in, which in turn makes them look really very stupid.
Reasonings above sound like bullsh*t to me to be honest. I dont care how important you think you are to a website, when you leave, it makes little or no difference. So, I tell you what old chap, you deny it, I'll hold my opinions and we'll leave it at that shall we?
Good day.
Seems to me people want the attention, but when they realise nobody really gives a toss and the site is exactly the same whether they are there or not, they make an excuse and creep back in, which in turn makes them look really very stupid.
Or they get lots of praise, and then find out as time progresses that their time isn't nearly half as limited as they thought it would be and stick around.
But let's not let facts spoil our opinions, eh.
(Before people start getting pissy, I am talking 100% about me and no one else. Their reasons are their own and of no concern to me. You can say my reasons sound like bull all you want - but you're an old man with a family. I'm a kid finding his way around the world, and TWO allowed me to do many things I otherwise wouldn't have. Consider me appreciative of my blessings, and sue me if that gripes you)
Hell it's a website....!!
Next people will be telling me they actually work for the WWE!! ;)
When I went off on my sabbaticals, I generally just left without a leaving thread. I may have mentioned "That's it, I'm off for a bit" but that was the limit!
Mr. Perfect left didn't he?
Why has he been logging in?

My favourite was Mr Dragon, who left the site in a huff, but not before changing every single post he ever did to "a".
Did anyone remember what made him throw the toys out of the pram :lol
If its your favourite website, why would you be leaving, because I doubt there will be a time in your life where you wont be using the internet because as I said, its engrained in modern day life, so your telling me you wont have a spare 5 minutes to log into your "favourite website"?
Times can change, and you may no longer have time or the will to log into your favourite website anymore, but regardless you can still appreciate that it was your favourite.
And trust me, Ray, I'm not on a high horse at all, I'm giving you my opionin....thats OPINION....on retarded, attention seeking leaving threads. If you think that anybody who's opinion clashes with your own means they are on a high horse, maybe you ought to stop and think it through.
If you think that just because your opinion clashed with mine and I said you were on a high horse means I do this to everyone who has a different viewpoint, maybe you ought to stop and think it through. Seriously. You call leaving threads bent because they're "attention seeking and retarded", but what I think is bent is that just because for one moment someone concentrates on themselves and their status on the forum, then they must be attention seeking. Seriously, that's what's bent.
I mean let's think about it for a second, going by these standards posting a picture in the picture thread is attention seeking, I mean seriously, you're not important on the website, so who gives a crap what you look like? It's just someone going HEY EVERYONE COMPLIMENT ME! Same thing.
Oh, and no need to post 'opinion' twice. Just because I argued against your points doesn't mean I don't realise that what you're saying is your opinion.
"Stupid" to think a leaving thread is stupid? :lol Yeah, because leaving threads arent stupid at all.
I think it's stupid to have such a hate of leaving threads, thinking that everyone who makes them MUCH be attention seeking and are just being retarded. Is it a crime to want to say goodbye to people on a website you like, to have a bit of closure when you leave? The answer, in my opinion, is no.

Times can change, and you may no longer have time or the will to log into your favourite website anymore, but regardless you can still appreciate that it was your favourite.Thats such a complete contradiction! If you have the time to use the internet, then you have the time to look at your favourite website, surely? I mean, if I have a specific favourite website and I'm online, chances are I'll be on that website...because its my favourite.
Plus, really, how much time do you need to have a quick browse around? 5-10 minutes? I'm pretty sure anybody can find a spare 5-10 mintes of a day once or twice a week to log in.
If you dont want to post here simply because the plate doesnt interest you anymore, I can see that as a valid reason, but if you claim it to be your favourite website and you also have time to browse online...
If you think that just because your opinion clashed with mine and I said you were on a high horse means I do this to everyone who has a different viewpoint, maybe you ought to stop and think it through. Seriously, that's what's bent.No Ray, somebody seeking attention on an internet forum to fish for compliments and well wishes because they are 'leaving' (which they rarely actually do!), is bent. Thats my opinion, I'm not demanding you agree, so dont you sit there and tell me I'm on a high horse because I gave my opinion and you disagree with it.
If I were trying to force you to see it my way, then by all means, but I didnt. I gave my DIFFERING OPINION, and you label me to be on a soap box. Big difference, maybe you should learn said difference.
I mean let's think about it for a second, going by these standards posting a picture in the picture thread is attention seeking, I mean seriously, you're not important on the website, so who gives a crap what you look like? It's just someone going HEY EVERYONE COMPLIMENT ME! Same thing. Are you kidding? You think posting pictures is attention seeking? I assume that you therefor consider people telling others what they recieve for Christmas or when they buy a new item of clothes/video game to be attention seeking aswell?
I disagree. Do people do it to fish for compliments? I dont think they do at all. Plus, once people have seen you, then you know posting new pics isnt going to get to attention, surely? I post pics of myself, my g/f, son, this and that. I'm not looking for compliments, I dont think I get comments at all in general, yet I still post because its there. None of us on here are f'n supermodels, I know if I post I'm not expecting compliments. If I were doing it for that reason, I'd have stopped after the first pic I posted as I dont believe I've EVER recieved a compliment. Same with you, most of the times you post pictures, 99% of people who reply say you look like a girl with a stupid hairstyle, which are negative remarks, so are you telling me you post pics looking for compliments, because you dont get them. Take that the wrong way and take offence at it if you like, if you do, its because you arent getting my point and to be honest, I couldnt care less because if you arent getting it, I'm wasting my breath.
Oh, and no need to post 'opinion' twice. Just because I argued against your points doesn't mean I don't realise that what you're saying is your opinion.I'll post it as many times as I feel the need to post it. I dont tell you what to and what not to post, do I?

Is it a crime to want to say goodbye to people on a website you like, to have a bit of closure when you leave? The answer, in my opinion, is no.I dont have a hatred of them, I simply think they are pointless and made for all the wrong reasons.
Just because I disagree with them Ray, doesnt mean I hate them. I dont give them enough thought to hate them, but when the subject is brought up, I'll give my OPINION (theres that word again!) on them, just like you did.
Are you telling me that my opinion that people make them for attention seeking purposes, is invalid? And if you are, is that because you disagree with my stance? If so, that makes you a little close minded from where I'm standing.
I'll reiterate, I think leaving threads and ego driven compliment-fishing nonsense. If you want to leave, leave. PM the people who you give a sh*t about and give them your contact details if you want to stay in touch, or dont if you dont want to, but making a big public song and dance that you are leaving, TO ME, is ridiculous, and only made worse when you come back within a bloody week!
Now, you feel free to argue all my points and we can go back and forth as much as you like, but the difference is I dont care if you agree with my opinion or not, whereas it seems you are trying to convince me to see it your way, which I wont.
Maybe I'm wrong.
By chance, I've just read this thread, and I'm so glad I've did, brought a smile to my face. The saying is true, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Thats such a complete contradiction! If you have the time to use the internet, then you have the time to look at your favourite website, surely? I mean, if I have a specific favourite website and I'm online, chances are I'll be on that website...because its my favourite.

My whole point regarding this was that you can leave the site on decent terms and thus make a 'nice' leaving thread. Obviously if you're totally happy the site you probably won't leave, but not everybody leaves in a fireball of hatred and bitterness. For example, Mitch's thread was very complimentary to a lot of people, and although he didn't leave (and FYI he never said he would never come back), he very well could have done.
No Ray, somebody seeking attention on an internet forum to fish for compliments and well wishes because they are 'leaving' (which they rarely actually do!), is bent. Thats my opinion, I'm not demanding you agree, so dont you sit there and tell me I'm on a high horse because I gave my opinion and you disagree with it.

I don't think everyone who makes leaving threads are fishing for compliments though. Some really do just want to say they're leaving, that's it! Someone like Simon for example, left with one of TWO's classiest posts ever (arguably, of course), and hasn't been seen since. No compliments wanted at all, he just said bye and left.
You can't have a go at people who say they're leaving and then don't, unless you want to contradict yourself (http://www.talkwrestlingonline.com/forum/showpost.php?p=460167&postcount=40). Profanity is still censored, so why are you here? And please don't think I'm telling you to leave, I'm just pointing out the contradiction.
Are you kidding? You think posting pictures is attention seeking? I assume that you therefor consider people telling others what they recieve for Christmas or when they buy a new item of clothes/video game to be attention seeking aswell?
It's that same basic rule throughout though, it's something totally about that person, so who should care - right?
Dude, calm down with the whole you're not getting it thing. I know I don't get compliments for my pictures, and I'm not after them. Just because it's something about me doesn't mean i'm seeking attention or wanting praise, just like it doesn't have to be when someone makes a leaving thread. See? If anything, a leaving threads more directly affects the forum than someone posting a picture, so surely it's more important?
I'll post it as many times as I feel the need to post it. I dont tell you what to and what not to post, do I?
No, but to me that seemed like you thought I didn't get it was your opinion, which I did. Just letting you know, you know?
I dont have a hatred of them, I simply think they are pointless and made for all the wrong reasons.
Just because I disagree with them Ray, doesnt mean I hate them. I dont give them enough thought to hate them, but when the subject is brought up, I'll give my OPINION (theres that word again!) on them, just like you did.

Just because I disagree with you, doesn't mean I don't get it's your opinion. And i'm saying that your opinion is wrong, but that's only in MY opinion. Just as in your opinion, my OPINION is wrong. Do you see what I mean?
I'll reiterate, I think leaving threads and ego driven compliment-fishing nonsense. If you want to leave, leave. PM the people who you give a sh*t about and give them your contact details if you want to stay in touch, or dont if you dont want to, but making a big public song and dance that you are leaving, TO ME, is ridiculous, and only made worse when you come back within a bloody week!
I accept your opinion, it's perfectly valid to think that, however, in my opinion it's not always the case, for the aforementioned reasons.
Now, you feel free to argue all my points and we can go back and forth as much as you like, but the difference is I dont care if you agree with my opinion or not, whereas it seems you are trying to convince me to see it your way, which I wont.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Dude seriously, all I've done is give my points of view, debating the subject of leaving threads, just as you've done. I'm not trying to 'convince' you to see it my way by any stretch. I don't see where you're getting that from.

See that I can fully understand. Guys like yourself, Ray, Nicole (plus many more) have grown up on this site and with their peers around them so why wouldn't you say goodbye.

You do know I still have that interview on tape don't you mitch? There's still time to sell it;)
As for farewell threads, it's like writing to my local german dungeon porn site and saying "Hey, bondage nuns was great but I feel that mistress whiplash doesn't pay me the respect i think i deserve, so I'm leaving". You just leave!
As much as I like a lot of people here, there are very few I have actually socialised with and therefore deserve an explaination of my departure. Mitch is a different case as he actively socialises with a lot of the TWO members and I felt his goodbye meant something to me.
But seriously, as great as TWO is, it is an electronic medium and privvy to the misconceptions that the written word gives, Miss T thinks I hate her, Popsi doesn't think she likes me, Darky wants to start a gay relationship (and who would blame him?) I haven't met these people (except darky, but he doesn't count) so why would I expect these people to like me or even care if I am here or not.
No people, the best way is to go quietly because the attention seeking always fails!

Exactly. That's my point about what my feeling was with doing it. Beltmark is an old man with a family. He's done lots in his life and came to this site as a side thing to discuss wrestling. As pointed out, I grew up on this site and it helped me out a lot (and I helped it out a lot). So Belty will never be able to understand my position because, let's be honest, he's too old and mature (questionable) and hasn't had the experiences here that I have. That's why I'm so dismissive of his "opinion".

Anyways for me I didn't leave looking for praise, I left so that the negatives could be released. I didn't need the attention, those that wanted me gone did.IMO
It's crazy to think now about what was going through heads, but in the immortal words of The Bongo meh!
I hold no grudges against anyone but they may hold them against me again, meh! People aren't always going to like you or even spend the time to get to know you, and then make an educated guess at whether they like you or not.
I think leaving threads have a purpose, good bad or indifferent, and no one but the person writing it knows the purpose of it.
We have all had little altercations here even you Belty and even you Belty have left TWO and come back due to a disagreement or two, it's old now though and somewhat funny.

Beltmark is an old man.
:lol
Younger than some, granted :P
But my point is that he'll never understand my position because when he came to this site, he was an older guy with a family and when you're at that point, it's like you've done everything, so the internet seems so trivial and secondary, which is completely understandable. It'd be like me saying "I don't understand why you'd want to be a Dad - I think that kids are just a waste of space and there's more to life than raising a child". I could easily say it, but I am not a father and therefore don't understand the position of a father. Hence BM can come in and say "well you know, I have a child and it's the most amazing thing". In a similar way, I can say why the internet means something to me because I grew up on it, met a lot of my best friends on here, got into Uni thanks to being on here (amongst other things) and so on. That's why you'll notice people like Nicole and Ray see the site differently to people like Spirit, BM, etc. Age and context are a lot to do with it.
Hence I'm all for leaving threads. It's nice to see other people with an attachment to the site and I enjoy reading certain posts and debating with certain people.

Hi! This is a very funny comment and just as witty ever time it's posted. In no way is it tired, old and generally an example of your lack of insight into humour. Please continue to post this comment after every post I make as two year old jokes that weren't really funny in the first place are really the "in thing" now. Like pokemans and iPods.

I remember meeting Burak. He was a fussy fry-up eater... And Rog doesn't eat egg whites. Random member info of the day.
I couldn't have touched a fry up the one time I met you. I was having trouble getting the floor to stop spinning about long enough to BE the floor.

I thought he ran away from me because I no-sold his chairshot.

To be fair, a lot of people would run away from DC or Banner. They're both scary looking (but totally cool when you talk to em) dudes. Personally i thought the random elbow drops was the highlight of that particular incident....:lol
