I recently got the following tapes:

NJPW Super Cup '94
MPW Super Cup '00
NJPW Skydiving '96
T2P Desembre Camiento
Toryumon TV from July '00
AAA/IWC When Worlds Collide
2 CMLL PPVs

I've gotta say I'm impressed in a BIG way! The disparity between WWE (even though I really enjoy WWE) and these various international feds is enormous!

Best points and things I've learnt (this'll probably come out a bit mark-ish but who cares?):

Benoit proving he can work ANY style effectively.

The same goes for Eddie Guerrero.

Sasuke effin' rules.

The trainers at Toryumon/T2P are some of the most creative people in the world.

Mexican announcers are even more excitable than JR when Stone Cold appears!

Jushin Lyger IS a Jedi.

I could go on and on and on but it'll suffice to say that I'm officially hooked!

All great tapes of great promotions, for my money Toryumon is the best promotion in-ring-wise at the moment, their style is pioneering and fresh. Michinoku is also awesome for its in-ring work and atmosphere, same goes for virtually all Lucha Libre promotions, bar AAA at the moment.

Benoit and Guerrero enstall faith in me, that pro wrestling is alive and well in a time when this "sports entertainment" has been adopted by the (clueless) masses.

Sasuke and Liger/Lyger seem to almost transcend the Junior Heavyweight divsion, whilst still pushing it to new heights, they're two of the most gifted workers of they're generation to say the least. It's always good to know someone new is getting into the international scene :xyx

Trying to think what my first Puro tapes were. If I can remember correctly it would be the History of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title vols 1-10 and Radical Fights vols 1 and 2.

They served as awesome introductions for me.

I'm starting to get into the Lucha/Puro too now.

I watched Pegasus Kid vs. Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger from August 12, 1992 and it was amazing. Lyger's drop kick to Benoit on the outside was OUCH!

Next to try and watch is the J-Cup Final from 1995.

Yay! A few superb tapes there. It's good to see a person being hooked on something I once loved. Hope you enjoy the rest mate, and I agree with the points you made! :)

I keep trying to get into Puro and Lucha seriously, I have a few tapes, in fact when world's collide is my 2nd favourite tape behind Dynamite's comp (so much Sayama goodness.) I just can't find any traders that keep a fairly up to date collection of tapes (especially lucha.) Ah well there's always those US indy spotfest videos ;)

I'm not really into Puro and Lucha but I think I will try and get into it soon, because WWE programming, especially RAW is atrocious at the minute.
