I have just got into and like UFC and watch there PPVs every 2 months on BRAVO - can anyone please tell me what the difference is between UFC and PRIDE? Also, how often to UFC and PRIDE(if it is like UFC) hold PPV/major events, is it like the WWE where there is a regular PPV (every 1 or 2 months, etc)? and are there any other feds like UFC that are available to watch on Cable, etc in the UK? Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

The main differences are:

Firstly, and most obviously, PRIDE fights are contested in a ring, which negates the advantages of ground n' pound fighters, with no cage to lean against.
Your standard PRIDE fight is fought over one 10 minute round and two subsequesnt 5 minute rounds, whereas UFC bouts are fought over 3 5-minute rounds (scored per round, while PRIDE is scored across the entire fight duration).

PRIDE has the advantage of having the stronger roster from a technical standpoint, although they let themselves down in that their cards tend to have a number of mismatches/really one sided fights. UFC tend to more consistently put on fights between fighters of similar levels of ability.

I don't have Cable, so can't say for certain which, but I recall that Men & Motors shows either King Of The Cage or Cage Rage.

D'OH!

Important (forgot):
There are slight rule differences between PRIDE & UFC, the most glaring being that PRIDE fighters are permitted to kick a grounded opponent. For this reason, I'd be interested to see how a few of the Chute Boxe (Mauricio Shogun & Murilio Ninja particularly) fighters would fare in the Octagon, with this significant part of their arsenal taken away.
