Best Of...DVDs

Im sure you all remember the 'Best of barry Gower' DVD that Baz posted on here as he bagan his run with us here at TWOStars. How would you all feel about other former ERE guys doing the same? An Acid Christ one, a Dark Alliance one, maybe even a Fill one, just so you can see the kinds of things we loved to write.

Thats IF I can get DM to give me axcess to the archives of course.

It could be done, but the DVD, if it ever was made, especially "The Rise & Fall of ERE" would be immense, absolutely immense. I'm thinking if you included the best matches from 4 years of writing, interspersed with commentary, story, factfiles, "bonus features", interviews with former stars etc etc etc, you're looking at - I don't know - 100 posts in that thread. Easily.

You would have a back catalogue of matches from Deadman, Crippler, Pabster, HBK, Fill, AC, Gower, The Dark Alliance, MBR, Sam H, Gavin Dellbridge, C2K, The Maxx, DraVen - many many many excellent matches.

Even Iagan would have a match in there :P, and there's loads more.

I know we must all seem like assholes, but ERE was an awesome fed of huge skill and great, gritty angles (and a few cruddy love angles, Gower...;)) that it would take an age to compile, and that's IF Andrew lets us delve into the archive.

Yeah, I intended to do one then realised I had no way to get to the old matchs now that the Efed section of ERE has been hidden from those of us who may use it to 'seek revenge'/goad/make points to Andrew.

I'll email you the Dark Alliance matches this week sometime, as the floppy disk I kept them on has all of a sudden gone caput! I'll have to fish out another disk and put them on there.

I'll be busy for the next three and a half weeks now. I'm going on holiday to Paris and Monaco so I will be hardly online these weeknights.

Yes ERE was good but like many things you are only as good as your last show. The final ERE shows were exceedingly poor so any claims to greatness will be viewed from that perspective. It also doesn't give the current matches and their format a chance to shine if they are being compared constantly.

The rise and fall of ERE would be good, especially seeing as Andrew has turned into the after montreal bitter Bret Hart :xyx

In defence Chris, ERE's last shows were poor...but they would of been better if i wouldn't of had to take a leave of absence. You can ask anyone. I was a hard working consistant poster.

The last shows were poor because they were leading to the end - a lot of interest had been lost and the last few RAWs were pretty much Andrew, Baz and myself

I think the lack of input before ONS kind of showed that most of the workers had just lost interest

I thought I'd say a few words here..... relax folks no need to get worked up yet, I've not said anything to upset you yet!

So I've had a quick talk with Darky about this and I've given him access to the e-fed boards of the Ex-Rev to get what he needs for this project. I've even said I'd give him a few words on the subject as well. Although I seriously don't think what's on those boards can give people a full history of the fed because it's not all on those forums, there's just the last year of it. Anyways let see what he can come up with...

ERE was a fantastic fed, probably one of the best things that i've been involved in on the internet. Many friends were made, some bust ups took place - it took a lot out of everyone as it was demanding but overall, the quality over the years was first class. I look back with many fond memories, a rise and fall write up would be a great idea.

Hey there,

The whole Rise and Fall of the ERE DVD idea interests me a lot but I was only really made aware of it last night because I don't venture into these forums. I've been told they are wanting to get it up today and I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything worth reading really with the little notice. Which is a shame because I had the longest World title reign there and feel I was quite a big part of the fed for a couple of years. I'm not having a pop at Darkstar or anything - I appreciate him asking me to do something but it'd have been cool to have a bit more time to do it.

I think what would be a cool idea would be if Andrew was given control of compiling the DVD and we got quite a lot of people who were in the fed to contribute. Obviously all this is down to Andrew and Darkstar and whoever else is in charge at TWOStars but I think it would be a better idea than just rushing a thread through.

I wouldn't mind compiling a best of The Crippler DVD as, without wanting to sound arrogant or anything, I could probably find some good matches for it but I'm well aware that as I'm not in the current efed that the interest might not be there for one.

Anyways, hope everythings going well with TWO Stars. The main thing is that everyone enjoys themselves.

It will be very difficult to do ERE justice if you try to get it all compiled in just 2 or 3 days. However, like I said last night, I can do some intros to the two or three matches that I can submit.

How many matches are you looking to have in this thing anyway? The past year would have about 15 in there, easily. Admittedly the first year or two may be difficult to get all the great matches so the DVD may be focussing on the last year the most.

i would be very intirested in seeing the rise and fall of ERE DVD as i know nothing about ERE. i was hoping that i can get to know more about it and the ERE vs TWO feud and the ONS ppv. as a new comer, the old things are much interesting to see. i am looking forward for this!!!

The problem with the ONS PPV was that by that time most of the ERE people had stopped posting, so really there was only a couple of us who brought the feud here, in fact, most of the TWOites posted on the ERE shows than ERE people posted here

I do agree with what Crippler said in his post there, this thing would come off alot better if it was given more than a few days to be put together. I'll have to talk to Darkstar again later on, work something out that will do justice to the place. As Mitchell pointed out there is alot of ground work covered in something we did before so could be an option, to put some of that into it.

I agree Darky if you want to the ERE era justice you should take time over it and talk to people strongly associated with it like pab, crippler, sam, dm, fill, andy gee if you can find him. I am sure I have missed a few but ask them a bunch of quesitions like you did with me and take a few weeks over it, maybe see if Andrew will help since he knows the place better?

You know, instead of posting it as a forum, perhaps this is best as a history website?

I find it a shame that you can't look over the old TWO matches and an archive would be nice.

I know ERE has an intrinsic link to TWOStars and as part of the history it should be included. You could do it as a spoof DVD site selling the shows, that means that not only do you get the writing, you can put in photos (or drawings), put Crippler's own DVD if you wish.

The important thing is that it is all in one place for people like Han who want to catch up on the past.

Now personally I don't see the point of going over past acheivements as it distracts you from making future ones. Other people do though and I strongly recommend you go the way of the website.

The good thing about the "Best Of" DVDs is that it gives the new & upcoming members a chance to read some quality work :)
