Hiya. I came into chat today logged into a freeserve account because my PC crashed yesterday and I have had to reinstall everything. Anyway to make a long story a little more brief my NTL disk has a whacking great scratch in it and won't run through the system so I installed Freeserve as a temporary measure.
I tried to explain this to the mods in the room but was banned by DD before I had fully explained. I know he was only doing his job but still surely shouldn't be as rude as what he has.
I'd be greatful if you could let me back in the room please,

Technically you dont need the NTL disk to connect to NTL. IF you setup dial up networking using the number you connect with (should be on the website somewhere listed under pops) enter the user name and password... Viola instant internet access.

Had to do this over the weekend for someone in the same situation. I remember being told i had a 3 months wait for my ntl disk, got the passwords, setup dial up mlarky (start settings, network and mlarky) and away you go

Would have thought that no matter how much a pain inthe ass a 2 hour cut off is, stil beats freeserve hands down :D (not that ive had annnyy bad experiences with them at all lol)
