Nice intro Boyo, good to have you back on TWO.

Don't forget everyone Holt is the TWO King of the Ring, Sickness the ERE and Ultimate King of the Ring. I shall be referring to The Incredible as King Holt for a while, maybe even have a new TIH T Shirt

Boyo

Just posted my first e-fed work since ERE. It's basically a vicious, nasty, rotten attack on everyone involved in the ERE and TWOStars. Oh, and Boyo has a high opinion of himself.

Just for those who are writing involving Retromark this week, please ensure you check with Ravenmark who he is intending to mark. The marking every week is a key part of RM's character so please do not assume what the mark is going to be.

If RM isn't around please ask myself

To add to this following a chat with RM. Arkham should not be marking every week so as a booker I'd like to retain Arkham as being Arkham every week and building that character, allowing Retromark to mark every week to add to Arkham's "friends"

This starts from this week, any problems let me know

It is Ravenmark that decides the Mark for the week though. So as long as Scotty has told Barry then I am happy. If it is the other way round then its the same to me and burying an opponent

The B-Man

The announcement has been made in the show thread

On a side note, I decided to alter Triple V's finisher "Circle of Trust" Instead of being a running firemans carry into an F5, it's now an F5 into a stunner.

But why you ask? Whilst STILL waiting for my copy of Tekken 5 to come, I played a bit of Tekken 4 and one of Bryan's grapple moves was an F5 into a stunner, and i liked it!

MrFill
29-06-2005, 04:16 PM
Wouldn't that be a fireman's carry into a stunner?

The F5 part implies the impact of the move - like Chris' C2KO, it's a fireman's carry into a Cutter

Just thinking "aloud" :)

A few quick notes.

Firstly to Banner - I am personally not a fan of you bolding stuff and making stuff different colours, I find it hard to read most of it when it changes every couple sentances. I don't mind the announcers name being bold but not a big fan of it.

Secondly again to banner - C2K has posted when your match isn't finished, obviously you will have to edit it now, I am not sure if that was the plan to begin with or not but in future if you are going to split it like that, posting right after would be advised otherwise it just holds the show up.

Hope that was helpful and in no way offensive to you.

Thanks

Barry

MrFill
30-06-2005, 03:01 AM
I have to agree with Barry on this - the match is really hard to read like that

Also, I'm not a fan of breaking matches up midway through - if you're going to do it in 2 posts, then they HAVE to be done one after the other, not stopping mid-way to finish writing, which means that everybody else has to wait for you

Saying that, Chris should have asked if you was posting immediately after :P :D

The Doctor
30-06-2005, 03:49 AM
I dunno, you try to bring a little colour into people's lives and this is the thanks you get! :lol

I've edited out all the colour, okay chaps? Looks dull as dishwater to me now, but hey.

Yup, the plan was to simply break up the match into two posts to keep it easy on the eye, but I spent too long faffing with my prose and Chris2K beat me to it! What can I say? Rookie mistake! :dumb Didn't think anyone would still be up and a-posting in the middle of the night.

Edited my post now and I quite like it, actually.

Anyone care to say what they thought of the actual match itself?

I dunno, you guys probably read a book and think "it would be better in Times New Roman font and not Tahoma!" :P

[ps] Mr Fill - re your sig: If you can't spell the simplest English words like "are", "you", "anyone" and others, please don't bother replying to my posts - it's annoying to try and decipher your gibberish - thank you I take issue with your spelling of the words colour, aluminium, etc! :lol

(I'm really only having a laugh, BTW guys, I am not the kind of person to take offense at constructive criticism and feedback. :xyx)

BTW, do you know that I'm actually a Brit, but I married a Yank, so we're living here now :)

I actually "speak" both English and American, so I spell Colour with or without the U :D

Sorry Brett you've been away a while - no code within matches please unless its for a highlights package etc. I'll give it a read, edit the ordering of posts etc later
No code left except the announcers' names in bold now, since like I said I edited out the colour.

I edited the post so it contains the entire match and think it works fine as is, to be honest, so wouldn't have seen a need to change it.

Not sure if it matters, but my view is the announcers' names in bold helps break up the page a little. I personally find an entire page of simple black and white text highlighted and divided in no way whatsoever very tiring on the eyes and a chore to read.

Pick up any book, magazine, newspaper or comic and you'll see how common it is the liven the text up a little with italics, bold text, etc. Using it sparingly seems sound advice, which I heeded straight away. But stripping the posts down to such bare basics I find odd, overly spartan, dull, and quite frankly it hurts my eyes, I must confess.

But take the bold out as well if you must. :roll

Now, peeps, a genuine request - the actual match please - how does that read? I'd like to know as it was my first and I'd like to make my matches enjoyable to read. Any comments? :)

The B-Man

Ok Brett I have now read the match, I thought it was an enjoyable little read except for one small thing. That is the use of Banner a lot of times throughtout the match, mainly too close together, is there nothing else you can refere to yourself as?

Thanks

I don't know, if you toss out too many nicknames it ends up looking like a tag match.

MrFill
30-06-2005, 08:21 PM
A few uses of aliases can be a good thing - read the ERE Championship match at KotR and you'll see how often we use aliases for each other

It's better to use a variety of names for a character than to keep on repeating one name over and over

You want to try to keep the match interesting, so mixing it up a little keeps people reading :)

The Doctor
30-06-2005, 08:30 PM
I noticed that myself, actually. How about Banner's opponent? Did I vary the names I referred to him by enough?

[edit] See - I can learn from criticism! I've gone back in and mixed up some "Brett"s, "The Brutal One"s, "the Brute"s and the old reliable "he" along with all the "Banner"s.

I'm learning! Cheers for your feedback! :xyx

I've just put a quickie up before the cage match. Opinions would be welcome with open arms if there is enough there to warrant one

Just returning to the topic of using bold etc in matches and promo's. When the fed started up again, at first i was using bold and even colour for speech names and then went into just using bold. Darkie said that it was more difficult to read, but I agree with Brett that it breaks up text and makes it a lot easier to read - just my opinion on the subject at hand

Nice "ouch" ending on the 4 vs 4, but you got the Insanity Unleashed wrong - it's the Train Wreck from a crusifix powerbomb position, so he drops to his knees, their back on the shoulder

Think starting with a Razor's Edge, then pushing the opponent sideways so that the small of the back is on the shoulder :)

Good match JR, did seem to be a little short and maybe the actual match ending could have been a little more dramatic. But you certainly succeeded in unleashing Triple V's sadistic nature; it's given me a good basis to take him back to old school. Good use of the environment also, especially at the begininng of the match
